    Alrighty everyone, I have been asked to put together a tutorial for bridging, and because I have Windows Vista and I have a Laptop, It only makes sense that the tutorial I set up is the tutorial of Bridging on Gears of War 2 with a Vista Laptop...

    Ok, so here it goes...

    What you need

    1. A Vista Laptop
    2. Crossover Cable

    Step 1.

    -Insert your crossover cable into the Xbox 360 and into the Vista Laptop.
    -Your computer should show that it has both a LAN connection and a Wireless Connection. (Without a Wireless connection, bridging is impossible on a laptop)

    -Then proceed to the Windows button on the bottom left side of your screen (I know, this is rather simple but I have to cover it all)
    -Go to Control Panel and then on to Network and Internet
    -Click on the Network and Sharing Center Icon and then click on the Manage Network Connections Link
    [IMG]

    -On the Manage Network Connections page, you will see two connections. There will be the LAN connection and the Wireless connection

    -Press the CTRL key on your keyboard, and then select both of the connections
    -Right click either of the connections, and press "Bridge Connections"
    -After the connections have been bridged, right click on the network bridge and press "Properties"
    -You will see the two connections that are in the network bridge. Make sure that both of the connections are checked

    -Once that has been completed, proceed to turn on your XBox 360 and sign on

    i just had one ip messed up somehow and i fixed that and it started working. do you have the ip range 206.13.213.20-206.13.213.255?
    because you need that ip range if you dont have it.

    Re: The Best Vista Bridging Tutorial

    You don't need all those IP's... You only need 65.66.42.130 (XBL's IP)
    and the IP RANGE of 206.13.213.20 - 206.13.213.255
    I don't know where you got all those other IP's from, but if you see them again, check to see if they come from port 3074 on commview.
    Also, this is just a varient of adahalo's bridging thread, except with Vista pictures. But its really the same concept, if not easier on Vista.

    Re: The Best Vista Bridging Tutorial

    Good Job..

    Acid, are you using a wireless router? Can I do this using my wirless router. This is my connection..

    Cable Modem - Linksys WRT350N(Extremely Good Router:wink:) - Wireless Laptop - Xbox 360 plugged into Laptop's Ethernet port.

    Is that okay? Do I have to use a "Crossover" cable or can I use a standard Ethernet cable. For example, the Ethernet cable that came with the Xbox 360. Thanks.

    Re: The Best Vista Bridging Tutorial

    I think I meet the requirements. I'm on a wireless connection. Would this setup work for bridging?

    Modem ----> Wireless Router
    Wireless Router ----> labtop (wirelessly)
    Wireless Router ----> xbox 360 (wirelessly via adapter)

    I'm on a 32-bit vista. Crossover cable would go from ethernet port in the 360 to ethernet port on labtop. Would it still work if I'm using the wireless adapter on the 360? Oh, do you NEED a full party in order to do this?
