3a. If you are connected to the network page (for XeLL), click "download" next to the "Raw Flash" section
3b-1. If you are not connected to the network, run flash360 on your Xbox (place on USB drive and launch using XeX menu, FSD, etc)
3b-2. Press X to backup your NAND

10. In kernel version, select 2.0.16537 (if not already selected)
11. Double check build type, motherboard, XeLL, and SMC Hack (JTAG ONLY)
12. Press "Generate Hacked Image"
13. Once completed, unplug your flash drive
14. Plug your flash drive into the Xbox (with the console OFF)

I can't use Xell to flash because i don't have an eject button, so i just re-flash the updated nand to the xbox using Flash360. It's the same thing i had did to get from 9199 to 15574, and now to 16197, and it works fine. Just a bit of info for anyone who can't use Xell fully.

Does anyone have the avatar update files?

Dashlaunch is already installed if you followed the tutorial. Network settings is in system settings. Download dashlaunch 3.03 if you need to configure it.

Hello iMoses, very nice tutorial, i followed it to the letter and i got it right.
The thing is that the avatar is missing in FSD and under the profile name it says "System Link Patched." I went to Setting - Profile - Edit Profile - Avatar and i get this error: Update Required A system update is required to use this feature.
In the pack that i downloaded from Xbox Sky called "XBOX 360 SYSTEMUPDATE 16197" there is a archive "SystemUpdate_16197_USB" that contains "$systemupdate". Does this have anything to do with the avatar and other things ?
Thanks.

Yes. The official system update is the way to get avatars working. Put the $systemupdate folder on the root of your flash drive, pop it in the Xbox, and let the update run. It won't affect your console. If it doesn't work, your dashlaunch settings have system updates blocked, and you will need to disable that first.

By "dashlaunch settings" you mean the settings in the FSD ? I have Dash version 2.2 Rev1072, but i didn't find any system update settings so i think i'm looking in the wrong place. I placed the $systemupdate folder on the root of my USB stick and when i turn on the console nothing happens, it loads FSD.
Could you be a bit more noob specific for me ?
Thank you.
you must download the avatar update separately and add it via USB, and the System Link patched just means that your current nand image has the 30MS ping patch removed, meaning that your local ping is not going to be boosted by 30ms by microsoft's stupid ideas.
Thank you for clearing that up !

try renaming it from $systemupdate to $$ystemupdate . that worked for me.
I tried it and it still boots into FSD, the USB stick is a 2 GB FAT32 format.

I see that $$ystemUpdate is only needed if u have dashlaunch configured to block system updates. So it should have worked one way or the other right ?

This is my launch.ini file:

try editing noupdater = true to noupdater = false
If that doesn't work, then thats where my knowledge drops off for this.
I just did and still no luck... I have a Slim Trinity Xbox, does it matter what USB port do i use on the console ?
Does it matter if Default = Hdd:\FSD\default.xex ?

I got the System Update working, it did not start automatically with the console, i had to go and open XeXMenu and then it required the Update. The folder was named "$$ystemUpdate". Finally....
