You go in an Xbox LIVE Party, wait for the game to start, and quit.

When you are the first one to connect in the game, you are host.

Press A on a player's name, if the option to "kick" is white then you're the host. Only works during the intermission between matches.

^ But that may mean you are only hosting the lobby, not the game.

Ok, well how can you make yourself host?
I'm trying to learn to standby, for recreational purposes, lol and never get host now that my connection is being bridged threw my laptop.
Could my firewall effect my connection?

Look for standbying tutorials all over the site. I don't think there is one specifically for CoD5 though. Yes, your firewall can and will effect your bridging.

No...I am pretty sure red is your nemesis or something similar, but not the host...

At the beginning of the game on 360 press back and look at your connection you will have full green bars and everyone else will have one red bar

The guaranteed way to tell on any game is to have your connection bridged and the host will have a lot of packets going into his IP and that is your host.(I will try to post a pic later to show)

Yes select but the proper word on the 360 is back if you look at your controller
