Discussion How to play movies from your HDD (jtag not needed)

ive put the is in the general discussion forum but doesnt seem to be getting any interest. ive searched far and wide for a way to do this but the only thing that came close was playing movies from an external hdd or usb stick. this way allows you to play divx, xvid, mwv & mp4s directly from your xbox 360 hdd. a tutorial will be coming later today, if you have a retail console you will need a transfer cable, if you have a jtagged box just ftp into it.

Couldnt you just use a USB to transfer data over to the xbox, then copy everything over to the HDD?

if you are on the 9199 dash then yes. you will need to configure the usb stick on the 360 then use USB XTAF viewer to access the files on it.
