Shoutout to SharpGhost for having a white background in his signature which looks weird on the dark theme.

  • Open up PhotoShop and open your image of choice. I'll be using the picture in Sharp's signature.
  • 2. Zoom in/out of your image as necessary, and then select the Magic Wand tool from the toolbar.

  • Using the Magic Wand Tool, click on the area of the picture that you want to make transparent.

  • Once you have the area selected, hit the delete button on your keyboard and it will delete the selected portion.
  • Now you can go ahead and save the image. Make sure to save it as a PNG, as that will allow for it to actually be transparent in the areas you deleted.
Here is the same picture before and after. View on both the dark theme and light theme.

Additionally, you can select the picture excluding the transparent background by control-clicking on the layer image. Then to give the image a better cut, you can use the feathering and refine edge tools to make sure you got rid of the entire background and so that there is no white outline remaining.

Just so you know the magic wand isn't always the best method for it. You can also use things like the pen tool and the quick mask tool.
