How To Have Amazing HD PVR Quality

Code:
Requirements:
-HD PVR
-TotalMediaExtreme Software
-An HDTV with the Red, Blue and Green output cables

In this tutorial, I will be showing you guys my settings for my HD PVR. I consider this quality great and I love it. So, how about we get started:

Step 1:
You must first configure your Xbox 360 Console to either 720p or 1080i. (If this is done, go to Step 2) To configure your Xbox, go to My Xbox > System Settings > Console Settings > Display > HDTV Settings > 720p (or 1080i)

I would recommend 720p rather than 1080i. Reason being is because 1080i is about 1920 x 1080 and 720p is 1280 x 720. The files of 1080i will kill your PC with the files sizes as well.

Step 2:
Now that is done, now it's time to go into depth of the actual settings of TotalMediaExtreme. So now, plug in your HD PVR into your computer, click "Record Video" (on the left. It looks like a cassette) and this screen should pop up.

Next, you're going to go first to "Format Settings".

Then I want you to follow these settings that I have:

Then hit "OK".
Now that that's done, let's move on to Device Settings.

Step 3:
Next, you're going to go to Device Settings, which is directly above "Format Settings".

Then I want you guys to follow my settings as well. If you don't like my settings, then feel free to adjust to your liking.

Video Decoder should be already adjusted. *Warning* I live in the US, so mine is NTSC.

If you live in the UNITED STATES, then have your "Video Standard" to "NTSC_M"

If you live in the UNITED KINGDOM, or another PAL country, set the Video Standard to PAL_60. I don't live in a PAL country, so if you do, and know a better video standard, then please tell me

Step 4:
This honestly isn't that important, but I think I should share anyway.
Go to the top left of the screen, and copy these settings:

It may be already like that, but I thought I needed to show just in case.

IMPORTANT
Many people make this mistake by using the Xbox 360 pre-set option on the bottom left. Don't use it. Reason being is that Xbox 360 option has less quality and is an MP4. For my recommendation, I would seriously prefer Playstation 3.

Don't worry, it will still work. The quality is so much better compared to Xbox 360.

I might post a tutorial on Sony Vegas rendering settings, I may not, idk. I hope this helped someone and I hope you enjoy your quality. Because I know that I love it.

If I missed anything, please AIM me or PM me

nice tut but where can we get TotalMediaExtreme?
It comes with the HD PVR when you buy it. Unless, you bought the HD PVR product only, then I had/have a download in Premium somewhere.
