I have done this 2-3 times, but I haven't recently...

    1. Go purchase a Microsoft points card at the store (not online).
    2. Go home, tear off the little tab, and very carefully write down the 25 digit code. Do NOT enter the on your xbox live account.
    3. Go back to the same store you purchased the card from (preferably in a timely manner).
    4. Tell them that the code didn't work and that, and they should make some phone calls, verify that the code wasn't entered, then give you another code.
    5. Now you have twice the Microsoft points for the price of one.

I didn't see any other threads like this so I thought I would make one! Press "thanks" if this helps!

Honestly, if you like doing this, then you shouldn't posts tutorials on it.

Because then they will find out about this and wont allow it anymore lol

They will figure a way around it very fast when they find out people are doing it.

You should remove soon is what people are saying... but its not like Microsoft already knows of people doing this. there is probably tons of people doing such and probably going in back of store and tearing off tablet and taking pic with phone. Nice tut anyways but it takes common sense for Microsoft to find out.

But wouldn't they just deactivate the code after you say it doesn't work?

the code WILL not work until it is activated at the counter.

that's why, you should grab two and keep them tightly stacked, and just leave the one thats activated at home, and you bring the other one back in and say it didnt work :\

but this thread should really shh

I'm a manager at a EB Games store, I can also confirm this is certainly not the procedure anyone with half a brain would follow. Generally you'd be the one making the call to Microsoft if your code is faulty.

What he said. I actually did have a card that didn't work (yes, legit) and Walmart refused to take it back because it was scratched off. Same with calling cards, etc. Doesn't work

I'm not saying it doesn't happen. But there is actually a number you call if you get DOA live/points cards. The retailer is not at all responsible, and therefore will not replace one for you.
