How To Fix Profile Downloading Errors!

This thread will help most modders doing recoveries fix profile download profiles. I have been running into these problems, which frustrate my customers.

So lets get into the solutions!

Solution 1:
So, you may encounter an error '80151012' To fix this you will have to follow these instructions:

  1. Go to any Xbox.com page (such as this one) and sign in to your Xbox Live account.
  2. Find and select My Account, which may be located in the upper-right corner under your gamertag or in the left navigation pane under Avatar.
  3. Under Safety, select Remove my profile from all Xbox 360 consoles.
  4. Under VISITED CONSOLES, select Require profile download.
  5. Return to the Xbox 360 console and download your profile.
If this doesn't work, follow this set of instructions:
  1. Sign in to your Xbox Live account at any Xbox.com page, such as this one.
  2. Find and select My Account, which may be located in the upper-right corner under your gamertag or in the left navigation pane under Avatar.
  3. Select Security, family & forums.

If that doesn't work follow this:

Reset the password for your Microsoft account

For information about how to reset the password for your Microsoft account, seeChange your Microsoft account password.
If that doesn't work follow this:
Redownload your Xbox Live profile

To redownload your Xbox Live profile, follow these steps:

    1. Format a spare USB flash drive as a memory unit.
    2. Plug the flash drive into your console.
    3. From the Dashboard, go to settings, and then select Storage.
    4. Select All Devices.
    5. Select Gamer Profiles, and then select your gamer profile.
    6. Select Move.
    7. Select the memory unit that you want to move your profile to.
    8. Remove the USB flash drive from your console.

    4. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller. (It doesn't matter which storage device you select; the cache will be cleared for all storage devices.)
    5. Select Clear System Cache.
    6. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.
  3. Restart your Xbox 360 console.
  4. Redownload your Xbox Live profile. For information on how to do this, seeDownload your Xbox Live profile to a different Xbox 360 console or redownload it.

Solution 3:
Check the Xbox Live service status

Go to the Xbox Live status page to see whether the service is up and running. If there are any service alerts, wait a while and then try again.

If that doesn't work follow this:
Check your Xbox Live connection

If you can’t connect to Xbox live, see Troubleshoot Xbox 360 connection to Xbox Live.

If that doesn't work follow this:

Verify your Microsoft Account security information

If you recently added security information to your Microsoft account, you may need to verify it. This verification process tells us that you, not someone trying to steal your account information, made the changes. Here’s how to verify your security information:
  1. Sign in to your Microsoft account. If you have forgotten your password or it doesn’t work, reset your password.
  2. Under Password and security info, click Edit security info.

  1. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.

If that doesn't work follow this:

If you recently signed up for two-step verification, create a unique app password in your Microsoft account

To see if your account has two-step verification turned on, sign in to your Microsoft account and selectSecurity info.

31f164f0-ee44-49af-b8ad-41efc27c7f54.png

If you recently turned on two-step verification, you may not know how to sign in to apps or devices that don't accept security codes. Some apps (like the mail apps on some smartphones) and devices (like the Xbox 360) can't prompt you to enter security information when you try to sign in.

If you have two-step verification turned on and get an “incorrect password” error with an app or a device, you'll need to create a unique app password in your Microsoft account associated to that app or device before you can sign in.

You'll need to do this for each app or device that can't prompt you for security information. To create a unique password for an app or a device:

  1. Sign in to your Microsoft account.
  2. Under Password and security info, select Edit security info.
If the webpage prompts you for a security proof, enter it and select Submit.
  3. Under App passwords, select Create a new app password.
This generates a new app password, which appears on your screen.
  4. When your Xbox console prompts you for your Microsoft account password, enter the app password that you created online.
After you sign in with your app password, you're all set to use that app or device. You will use this new app password to sign in to your device instead of your Microsoft account password.

If you want to turn off two-step verification:

  1. Sign in to your Microsoft account.
  2. Under Password and security info, select Edit security info.
If the web page prompts you for a security proof, enter it and select Submit.
  3. Under the heading Two-Step Verification, select Turn off two-step verification.

If that doesn't work follow this:

Delete and then re-download your Xbox Live profile

For information about how to do this, see Manage gamertag & profile support.

If that doesn't work follow this:

Reset your Xbox 360 console

To reset your Xbox 360 console, follow these steps:
  1. Press the Guide button, and then select Turn Off Console.
  2. Turn on your Xbox 360 console.
Note If you’re using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, you can turn on the console by using theGuidebutton on the controller.
If that doesn't work follow this:

Delete and then re-download system updates

To delete and then redownload system updates, follow these steps.

Note These steps delete all installed system updates on your Xbox console.
  1. Press the Guide button and then select Xbox Home.
  2. Select settings and then System.
  3. Select Storage.
  4. Highlight your storage device (but do not press A to select it).
  5. Press the following buttons in the following order:
    1. Left bumper
    2. Right bumper
    3. X button
    4. Left bumper
    5. Right bumper
    6. X button
  6. On the Delete System Update screen, select Yes.
  7. After your Xbox console restarts, select OK to download and install the system update.
  8. After the system update is installed, redownload your Xbox Live profile and try to sign in to Xbox Live.

Solution 4:
So, you may encounter error '80070571' to fix this follow these:

Delete the corrupted profile, clear the system cache and then download your profile again

To resolve this problem, delete the corrupted profile that's stored on your Xbox 360 console and then download your profile again.
Step 1: Delete the corrupted profile

  1. Go to Settings and then select System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select All Devices.
  4. Select Gamer Profiles.
  5. Select the gamertag that you want to delete.
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Select Delete Profile Only. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements.
Step 2: Clear the system cache

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller.

  1. Go to settings and select System Settings.
  2. Select Storage or Memory.
  3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller. (It doesn't matter which storage device you select; this will clear the cache for all storage devices.)
  4. Select Clear System Cache.
  5. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.
  6. Restart your console.
Find your Microsoft account email address or password.
  • If the account is an Xbox Live child account, you have to use the parent’s Microsoft account to download the profile.
  • Select the storage device for your profile (for example, Hard Drive).
Your profile will begin downloading. Once your profile has downloaded, you can choose whether to require a Microsoft account password to sign in to your profile.

If that doesn't work follow this:
Troubleshoot your storage device.

Note: This solution does not work on 4 GB consoles.
  1. Turn off your console.
  2. Remove the hard drive (see Add or remove an Xbox 360 Hard Drive).
  3. Try a different Xbox 360 Hard Drive if one is available or an external USB flash drive.
  4. Download your profile (for details, see step 3 in Solution 1).
Note If the profile downloads without any problem, it's likely that the original storage device was the issue. See Troubleshoot Xbox 360 Hard Drives or USB device doesn't work when connected to an Xbox 360 console.

Solution 5:
Clear your cache 3 times, then reboot your Xbox, then try downloading the profile again.

I tried putting spoilers in but I kept having problems, so I left them. It's a bit lengthy and you have to scroll down a lot. Would you be able to try and put spoilers in for each solution?

I would be able to, but I cannot edit posts in this section. Only under my designated sections. I'm sure HuskerHeaven HuskerHeaven would.
