This Tutorial will show you how to add a debug light to your matrix or xlink digilent glitch board.

You can use a smd led or a 3mm led what ever you want your choice.

This will help you debug a console that is not glitching because if the light is not blinking every 5 seconds or if it is not lighting up at all. you dont have your wires on correctly
( so if the lights not blinking the console will never boot so go back through your wires and find the problem get it fixed and get that light blinking)

you can use a smd led light for this if you want and they come in three differnt models they are
0603,1206 and 0805 all are differnt sizes.
The chart below will get you close to what resistor you need for what ever color smd led you are useing.
(difernt colors need differnt resistor)
smd led chart
Red LED = 51 to 82 ohms
Orange LED = 43 to 62 ohms
Yellow LED = 43 to 62 ohms
Green LED = 36 to 52 ohms
blue LED = 15 ohms
pink LED = 15 to 24 ohms
High Bright Red = 51 ohms
White LED = cant use because it draws 3.4v and the supply voltage is 3.3v

As you can see below some 3 mm lights draw more than 3.3v so be carefull.
only insall a light that draws under 3.3v and make sure to use a resistor between the
positive debug pad on the glitcher and the pos legg on the light
3 mm led
White LED bulbs: 3.2 - 3.4V,

• Red LED bulbs: 1.9 - 2.1V,

• Yellow LED bulbs: 1.9 - 2.1V,

• Blue LED bulbs: 3.2 - 3.4V,

• Green LED bulbs: 3.2 - 3.4V,
To see what ohm resistor to use for 3mm leds refer to the smd led chart.

check this out the debug light in action.

After getting this to work correctly i then had a idea to make one of the ring of lights be the debug light.
so i then installed another led on the rol board and this is what it looks like booting.
