Go Start>Control Panel>User Account
Now you should be able to remove the account, I'm not sure if that will help you because you didn't state what the laptop runs (Windows, Linux ect).

You need to sign in as an Administrator. If you are the Administrator then remove your status, and give it to your Dad's account. Sign in on your Dad's account go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Delete your account. It would be wise to disable your account first.

You're using Vista, right?

Control Panel > User Account and Family Safety > User Accounts > Manage Accounts (Manage Another Account) > Click your Dad's account > Click "Change the Account Type" > Set it to Administrator.

Log off and sign on to your Dad's account. Go through the same process but click your account and set it to Standard User. From there click your name and click "Delete Account". It will prompt you whether or not you would like to keep your files, that's up to you. And you should be done. Good luck!
