When you get host banned, does both your console and your account get banned, or is it just your console?

Also, do you guys know how long they last. I was told a while ago that they lasted like a year, but I've been host banned for 1 1/2-2 years now, so not sure about that one.

It's just your console. And for Halo 2, you would be host banned for about a year and a half, so I always assumed it was the same for Halo 3.

I always thought the the host ban period was random. Regardless, only your console receives the ban, so you can go on a different console with the same account and get host.
