Discussion Hmm...infection map?

Can't quite get it working. The map is ready, the gametype is ready....but when I try playing it I get this:
"This map variant is not compatible with this game variant."

I tried re-saving the map in forge as infection and changed the spawn points accordingly, no dice.

The Exact same thing is happening to me! I have like the perfect Fat Kid map but I can't test it! Le me know if you, figure it out.

Are you running of a JTAG or ISO from flashed?
That wouldn't matter.

Jtag, kind sir. I took off my modded maps and the modded default.xex, also.

And Steve, someone said it'll be like that until the game releases. No idea what he is talking about haha. We'll see.

f***, might be like a title update or something, but then again thats not fair for offline gamers....

Same happened to me when I tried to make an infection map... so i selected the advanced option that appears when you push x on an object and changed the label option to inf-spawn, infection and haven.

I don't know exactly what it was that made it work, but after doing that my map work!

I mostly used it on spawn points and a couple of static structures

I did that for spawns, I'll try it. Thanks.

It won't play because you don't have proper labels on objects.

After booting up and looking, you have 2 options: inf_spawn and inf_haven.

Testing shows that:
Apply inf_spawn to spawn points, Humans are Red Team, Zombies are Blue Team.
Apply inf_haven to hill markers.

Once the game sees you have correct labels, the game will let you play.


I figure Bungie will have a big writeup on their site at launch to explain labels.

I'll probably end up writing a tut on them myself since there are still 2 weeks to go.

Ah, that makes sense. What is the 'Infection," label for than?
