I tried flashing a hitachi in JF today and when i tried to put the modified ix 1.51 or modified stock with my dvd key it gave me a checksum error. I tried it in the oldest and newest JF. It said checksum is not valid or something. I have the v47 version. Thanks

If your drive is already modded you have to restore to its original firmware before you can upgrade to a newer ixtreme. The hitachi is like no other drive it can only be flashed when it has its original firmware on it. If it is modded already you get the error.

When i try to put my dvd key into the original firmware and flash it with that i still get the error. I also tried it with the original .bin that had no dvd key (0000000000000000) and i still got the error with the x151 flashing

Are you trying to flash it or restore it? There are two different things. If you tell it to flash it will fail. If you tell it to restore then it will restore the original firmware.

alright i just woke up and thought about something... Do i have to flash the drive with the blank firmware and then put my dvd key in through the same method that i flashed it with stock/ix? Because i remember that their aer other radio buttons that are about spoofing it or something... I tried spoofing the fw and then flashing it. Is that right?
