Could anyone tell me the hexadecimal color code for control (the default background color in VB,C#, etc.)?

Well, it's visual style dependent though, isn't it? I'm pretty sure it changes even in the process of switching factory-provided visual styles like Classic or Aero.

It's generally a good idea to use transparent images in your program, if that's what you're getting at. Photoshop can save transparent PNGs. Compatibility used to be a problem with PNGs, but it's been a good five years since the concept of incompatibility between the three main image formats and browsers and such died, at the very least. I think I'm rambling now.

But yeah, it may not seem important until that one retarded looking screenshot of your program finds its way onto Google Images.
