Hi,

I've a Jasper console, it has RROD, code is 0001.

It shows RROD immediately when switch button pressed, fan is not spinning.

The PSU has Orange indicate, whether the console is turned on or not.

So I've taken it apart and tested the power source spots:

1.png

Standby 5V present. When turned on, 12V is not there.

3.png

Standby 5V, 3.3V, 1.8V present. When turned on, 12V is not there.

So according to the test result, I guess the PSU and MOSFET are fine. It might be the cpu needs to be re-flowed?

Any help will be appreciate.

Cheers,

R

Do you have a second Power Supply you can test it with?

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately no.

I was also thinking it might be the PSU problem like it can't supply enough power while the console wants to power on.
Tried to re-flow the motherboard but same problem.

Anyway I've gave up on this one and sold it as parts.

Buy another working phat console would be cheaper than repair this RROD unit not to mention the time involved.

It was either the PSU or a short on the board. Reflow wouldn't have helped anything, the CPU/GPU wasn't even given power before this error was detected.
