Help with Cain and Able -- Won't detect my router!

Okay guys, I'm really need your help. I'm looking to BRIDGE in halo 3, and I know I need Cain and Abel to work. Thing is, when I go to sniffer, and snif and then click SCAN MAC ADDRESS, it doesn't even show my IP!!

I think this means it cannot connect to my router, and I don't know why. If I go to wireless, I can see my router, and when I configure it and try it in the Sniffer, it just won't work (it would take like days for it to get up to my IP.)

My IP has 3 letters in the second phrase (124.) When I configure Cain's range, it won't let me make a 3 digit thing for the second space. Hard to explain, sorry.
So, I would have to wait days for it to reach my IP (it counts up by 1 for each space.) Please help me, I don't know. The IP it shows by default is not mine. :.(

Please message me. It is hard for me to explain everything on a forum post.

the IP is shows probably is yours... your looking for the routers IP ?

my IP is 81.126...... so on
My Routers is 192.168.13...... so on

yours wont be 81.... cos thats the UK IP

Ehh, I wish I understood that.

All I know is that when I Sniff and SCAN FOR MAC ADDRESSES, it doesn't show my Router IP and the Microsoft Corp thing, like it supposedly should (it doesn't show any IP at all!)

If this helps, I had a modem from my first ISP. I changed ISPs and recieved a new modem (which I installed.) Then, I purchased a Linksys router, and set it up like this:

MODEM >Router
Router >Xbox 360>Computer

Make any sense?

Anyway, when I click the Sniff or whatever, it sniffs my old modem (I think) but the modem isn't there so it cannot receive an IP or signal. It doesn't sniff my router, which is what I want it to do. I don't know how to configure it so it sniffs the router.

Open Cain and then on the top select "Configure" then there will be a device list. click on the one that has a local IP address than hit OK. You should get more familiar with IP terms and definitions so that people dont call you stupid for not knowing the difference. i understand you're new to this but still, do your research. Hope this helps

Ok, well I clearly don't know what I'm doing (not that I'm proud of it.)

This is the default sniffing target thing:

Only problem is, 66.16.185.24 is NOT my IP address. It used to be, but now that is not. When I go to ipchicken.com, the IP is not that.

The option under that, however, (the one with no IP address show) is my current device. I know because when I go to the Wireless tab and choose that device, it pops up with my router and stuff.

I need help otherwise I wouldn't be asking. :?

your modem connects to your router, and out of your router you have your xbox an then from your xbox you have your pc ??

as far as i know thats not possible....

i have my modem into my router then wireless to my laptop.... which i then connect into my xbox360 via an ethernet cable (ICS internet connection sharing)

with my set up tho, i cant use cain&abel because im not hardwired into my route... so if your @ all wireless then you wont be able to use cain&abel or commview (well thats what i have been told)

Im having the same problem. But Im trying to flood people's Ips to boot them offline. (if they're a jerk and really deserve it...) When I go to configure it only gives me my LOCAL IP (10.0.0.x) but when I scan mac addresses it gives me my Ps3's local and my (Netgear) router's local... I went to ipchicken.com to get my PUBLIC IP. It wast something like 67.123.(whatever) Now if I go to my Cmd and type in IPCONFIG it gives me only my locals like 255.255.255.0 and 10.0.0.x now when I try to scan thru my PS3's local IP (even when im the host of a match) nothing comes up. Now I know that I have to be host so everyone's IPs are connected to my router... That means that CandA isnt A. detecting them or B. i need to get cain to use my PUBLIC IP... If you guys can help that'd be GREAT!!!
