I recently got the HTC EVO 3D. I want to root it and unlock it since it's a Sprint phone to switch it over to Tmobile. Is it possible? Here is the following information:

    Phone Model
    PG86100
    Android Version
    4.0.3
    Service Provider
    Sprint

rooting it is easy enough, use the unlocking tool via htc and you can flash a custom recovery etc.

however it is not possible to bring it to tmobile

    you cna go to verizon/pageplus/alltel/cricket/metropcs/virgin/boost

all of which require esn flashing which is a legal grey area, youll lose access to 4g. it may be possible to get it back on virgin and boost but ive no idea on how to go about that though

Have you tried this for root? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889438
Unless things have changed, the last time I unlocked a phone so I could switch carriers, I had to call the current carrier to get it unlocked. Like I said, unless things have changed, call Sprint and see if it's locked, and if so, if they can unlock it.
