Solved Help me choose a distro please!

Ok i have decided to try Linux.

What i need out of it:
1. It HAS to be able to play BF2 with the Project Reality 0.86 mod.
2. Compatibility with most of my windows programs.
3. That cool wallpaper with all of the monitoring things that i saw somewhere.
4. Has to be compatible with my Gateway FX P-7805u hardware.

I know this is kinda picky, but i dont want a distro that will make me want to go back to vista again.

I finally got sick of the vulnerability to malware that windows has after i uploaded a jpg to a site and it said "Possible Malicious Code in Image File." I went to find it to delete it and it was gone. Nothing showed up on malwarebytes or superantispyware. :.(

well, for compatibility with windows programs and games you use the program called wine and I believe you can use just about any distro from your needs, I would recommend Ubuntu because it's user friendly. One last thing, Welcome to Linux my friend =)

im using kubuntu 0.04 for about 2 weeks

i like it a lot but ive yet to run any windows apps as its mainly surfing and stuff

runs nice and fast compared to Vista 32bit internet is also faster
