Depending how it has been wiped, you are going to be at a loss and not able to recover anything.

That is the purpose of wiping.

I just woke up and everything was wiped.
Random deletion could only really be due to a virus I believe. Attempting to recover any of it could just keep the virus on the computer. I'd do a full virus scan and reformat the hard-drive personally. Although someone with better knowledge should be able to offer more advice.

Edit - Have you tried booting in safemode? Does windows run fine?

Windows runs fine because I have my OS on an SSD but my photos and music is basically all gone. Don’t think I have a virus but I’ll do another scan.

Hoping I can recover my ****. BreakdowN v2 BreakdowN v2 I know theres recovery programs but I don’t know which one to use because so many of them are alike and filled with bloated adware.

I literally used one when I worked at that computer shop years ago and I can't find it on my computer anywhere and I can't remember the fucvibnsdgisbgsgb name. I'll try and find you a credible one by the end of tonight. They only have a 50/50 shot of working tho.

Wiped hdds can't be recovered. Especially not with consumer grade software and even with forensic grade data recovery tools it's not likely you'll be able to recover full data from the wiped drive. However I wish you good luck and let me know if you have any breakthroughs on this.

Just use any recovery software. I used it on my HDD nearly a year after I deleted probably 100GB+ of porn and I was still able to recover 70% of the deleted content. Rest was corrupted but was still worth the time.

There is a chance of recovering files, if you just performed simple format or simply deleted files - chance of recovery is high. I once accidentally formatted hdd to new file system and i just simply used recovery program, because HDD sectors weren't overwritten with new data and i had 100% success. Key of data recovery is not replacing existing data with new, windows (file system) just simply mark these sectors as not usable so you can overwrite it with new data.

EaseUS is a paid program, but you can work around pay wall (wink, wink).
Recuva is a good option too, and it's free. You can go with this one.

But you should not use current drive! Every random use of it, will make recovery more difficult. Because temporary files are created by windows and other software, overwriting sectors on data you want to recover.

Most PC Repair shops have access to better programs out there to recover wiped data but its a hit or miss. it did it out of no where, sounds like malware. You can try programs that are for free but it wont work. good luck.

I know I'm a bit late to this party and not sure if you've done anything yet but in the past...I had accidentally hooked up my back up external to the laptop I was wiping, using DBAN, and when you start wiping it wipes all drives connected. So to recover the external, I used Recover My Files. At the time, I think the only stuff I lost was any videos. Most pictures were named really weird and it would recover the thumbnails so sifting through all of that and deleting irrelevant data recovered was a PITA. This was back in 2010 so maybe things have improved since then.

The same company that created CCleaner, created Recuva, and it looks like there is a free version but it doesn't say in the free version that it actually recovers files. It might show that there are files to recover and then you gotta pay to recover them.
