I do not think that handsome jack will return, after all you just need to think about the end of the pre sequel: 'War is coming, you are going to need all the vaulthunters you can get.'
This might also mean that we might see Fiona/Rhys appear in BL3. But this whole war thing sounds 'bigger' than Handsome Jack/Hyperion if you ask me. Just my opinion though.

Have a nice day and game on!

Jack is back at Hyperion servers as in AI (at least in my save) and the loaders etc have been getting feelings and so on as stated in the first episode of Tales.
The chapter 4 dated somewhere after or at the end of BL:TPS so it would be possible that the Alien came to warn vault hunters from the fact that Jack has reappeared. After all the alien is kind of against Jack in the TPS also and as an AI Jack may very well be more dangerous than ever. (Maybe all the loaders will have Jack's mind and they'll have some sort of hivemind?)

It would also be logical to stick with some sort of Jack since after all he has been the most loved/hated character of the series.

Small Spoiler about Tales from the Borderlands:
It actually doesn't matter what you do in Tales from the Borderlands, Jack always takes over. (I played it through 3 times)
Yet, I do think the AI might already be beaten in the 5th chapter. But if AI Jack actually survives the 5th chapter, he probably will at least be featured in BL3.

I do not see any reason why the Jack AI would have been destroyed/been beaten in 5th chapter.
After all Jack has been the main antagonist against vault hunters and it would be really really weird choice to eliminate him for good in hands of Rhys or someone else than vault hunters.

That would kind of stupid to bring him back in the first place since his role has been kind of small and easily replaceable with just some sort of other hyperion database.

Well, it is a game focused on dialog. It isn't even a real point and click. If you liked the Borderlands series and have a love for good story telling (like me) I would recommend you to get it. Yet don't expect anything great gameplay-wise.

I know that this thread is basically already dead, but I just can't ressist at this point:
    Handsome Jack totally died.
Aside from that, I really loved the ending. If you played it, what is your opinion about it? Do you think there will be a second season? I would really like to know!

    I hated the ending.
    Really WTF??
Hyperion was destroyed after they lose their space station? Where the hell is logic in that? Jack wasn't able to upload his AI into Hyperion's other servers? REALLY REALLY WHY THE HELL NOT?!?!??!?! Well at least we know now that Rhys and Atlas company will be part of BL3... And that there will not be Scooter...

Liked the game but really really hated the ending.

Well, I thought of the 'Final Boss' as very creative and really enjoyed it. The whole 'Fall of Jack' is a bit stretched, but it was well delivered. Also, reading official statements, it is possible that there will be a Tales from the Borderlands 2 prior to Borderlands 3.
Since a second season isn't even confirmed yet, I really can't tell though. I just think of it as very likely since it is considered as one of Telltale's best.
Would you consider buying (maybe even cracking) a second season in case there is one?

As huge fan of course I would by the game.
I liked the final boss and the whole Gortys thing overall a lot and other plot twists but hated the way Jack+hyperion things ended.
It would be good to see part 2 of tell tale before bl3 as maybe they could bring Jack back and other smart stuff in that....
But it the other hand that would mean at least 2 to 3 years of waiting before bl3 and that would be thing I really hate.

I really agree, I spent countless hours on the BL parts (I actually have all the achievements) and would love to see the third part sooner rather than later, but reading gaming news it doesn't even seem like they are really developing it since they put most their ressources in Battleborn

I can actually agree here, remember the mission with Nakayama with how he made Jack 'Invincible' by making him a computerized program? That could be him, not the living flesh and blood, but still could be, with no concrete proof this topic is VERY 2 sided and could be argued for a while.
