This is a tutorial for those of who do not wish to Hotswap, etc... but want to mod old maps on an Xbox 360.

First off, you need these programs

    This package includes:
    Map Resigner PRO - FeudalNate
    Map Converter PRO - Halo2mmMods.com
    Map Signatures (Text File)
    Instructions(Text File)

    Step 1
Get the old map you want to mod.

    Step 2
Mod or patch your old map to your likings.

    Step 3
Open up Map Converter PRO, then open up your modded/patched old map.

    Step 4
Hit the down arrow and select the DLC map that you want your old map to recognized as. Then, simply hit Convert
    [IMG]

    Step 5
Open your map in Map Resigner PRO.

    Step 6
Once your map has been opened, Check the Use custom signature box.

    Step 7
Open up the map signatures text file. Locate the DLC map that your old map was converted to. Copy the numbers/letters next to that map [In blue] (Right-click>copy;Ctrl+C). Now go to the box [In red] and paste those numbers/letters (Right-click>Paste;Ctrl+V).
*These numbers and letters are a map Signature.
**You need these signatures because they are the original, DLC, signature.

    Step 8
Press the button that says Resign [In yellow] that is in the same row as the Custom Signature box.

    Step 9
The resigning process is now complete, which you can check by looking at the bottom [In yellow]. It should say Map Signature Fixed
    [IMG]

    Step 10
Close out of everything. Now, rename your map to the DLC map you converted it to. (Right-Click>Rename)

    You are now finished!
You modded an old map on an Xbox 360, without Hotswapping or anything.
    Enjoy!!!

Go fall in a hole, preferably deep.

How many times have you been banned now anyways?

Can you do this with skins and what-not? I'm going to guess no, but I'd really like to skin on my Xbox.

Yes of course. Just follow the tutorial, and instead of patching your map - skin it.

Ok, then do I have something wrong? I thought the modding would be like Halo PC, where the bitmaps are the same across all maps, and you'd need Shared.map and things. So that's only if I wanted to edit the main screen and the like?

You can't edit mainmenu, shared, sp_shared etc on the 360 unless you hotswap. This is just for modding multiplayer maps.:S

To skin MP maps you don't need to access shared, etc from your hardrive to skin. Load them into Entity, open the map you want to skin... In the bottom right corner, it should say something like "internal, or shared, or sp_shared, or mainmenu". If it says anything but internal, you have to click the raw data editor and just click internalize bitmap. Then just save the bitmap and open a .dds editor

How do I do this? I can't find the Raw Data Editor? Because it says MPShared, etc.

Never mind, I got a program called Halo 2 Bitmap Internalizer, works like a charm.

So your pretty much replacing one of your DLC maps such as containment with the lockout map? You'll no longer have the containment map though will you?

    No, sorry.

This is just a simple way of of playing a modded old map without hotswapping. If you want to have the old maps and DLC maps, hotswap.
