Some notes on the effect on a weapon of adding the new DLC barrels to the accessory slot.
(ie not main barrel or elemental slots)
Figures and results vary according to the weapon types the dlc barrels are added to.

Seeker: Increases damage 200-400%. Normal weapons adopt seeker name.

Stinger: Increases damage 200-500%. Normal weapons adopt stinger name. Causes bullets on some weapon types to ricochet.

Florentine: Increases magazine size 50-200%. Slight damage increase 30%. Normal weapons adopt Florentine name. Dual elemental possibilities?.

Swordsplosion: Alien barrel. Increases damage by 300% on average but decreases multiplier similar percentage eg x9 becomes x5. Increases accuracy and magazine size moderately. (Note: because it reduces multipliers and consumes more ammo per shot it has a good chance of causing most weapons to fire blanks.)

Grog Nozzle: Decreases damage significantly!! Increases elemental chance x2, Heals well (at a cost)

Omen:Alien barrel. Increases damage slightly 15-30% increases multiplier by +4 eg x5 becomes x9. Normal weapons adopt Omen name

Crit: Increases damage and accuracy slightly. Heals but not as effectively as other moxxi guns

Orc: Decreases accuracy. Weapon adopts Orc name. Causes bullets on some weapon types to ricochet.

I am considering to add Seeker, Stinger Florentine, Swordsplosion and Grog Nozzle barrels to the lists in the spoilers, (although they are not the best in any category). I am not sure about the Omen, I don't think it adds much practical usefulness or value. The others I will leave out..

The Florentine barrel is only Shock. It gets it's Slag function from the Slag element in the Element slot. So if you add that as a barrel on another weapon and don't use an element, you'll get Shock and Explosive.

also wanted to add
when you add swordsplosion with heartbreaker in a normal assault rifle the weapon shoots 1 pellet that make me think that it reduces only 4 pellets instead of 6 as you have described.

I tried it across all weapon types, shotgun, AR Sniper etc. The values differ slightly depending on the weapon type. However I will adjust the above post as your figure is definitely more accurate.

The Hive's barrel gives homing projectiles. Not directly, but you know how it works.
I hope.

i bet he knows but....he listed the barrels that improves some aspect of the STATS of a weapon....listing all the barrels that has unique ability is one tough work.

I have not listed any barrels that add homing effect to a weapon. I think it would be a good idea to do so. I should add "homing" as a category!

the only way i found to make a weapon homing is to add the homing pistol barrel,seeker or hive barrel to the weapons barrel or element slot.

there are some more things
the deliverance barrel when added to a tediore shotgun or a shotgun whose manufacturer you have manually changed to tediore will home in on targets when reloaded(doesn't work with infinity deliverance)....
it should be noted that it is NOT necessary to add the barrel to the element slot to attain that effect any slot will do cause its the weapons effect.

it doesn't work with any other weapon type (haven't tested them all but most of them).
i guess this should be helpful for your barrel "almanac".:smile::biggrin:

the only way i found to make a weapon homing is to add the homing pistol barrel,seeker or hive barrel to the weapons barrel or element slot.

Thanks, that's a start. Although I'm not sure if the hive will be useful. Like you said its such a unique barrel. If you wanted, say , a homing Longbow sniper, putting the hive in barrel or elemental would change the projectile. Maybe seeker would work. But I would be putting the homing barrel into accessory slot to check its effect without changing the basic projectile/pellet/bullet.

Thanks for that. Deliverance homing reload is so cool. That is worthy of note, and you have given a very useful description of how to add it to a weapon.:biggrin:
Still I am wondering if any homing barrels directly affect the weapons ammo, causing it to also become homing.
I will look into it a bit later today when I get free time. Thanks nipun99 and EpicCalzone.
