Which is the best for 120/144 Hz gaming?
And, which is best for video editing (Vegas) and Maya?

Thanks in advance

Price to performance wise I was thinking the HD 7970 would be the best, but I guess the higher the price, the more performance your get.

Well you asked about the best card there, a 780 will outperform a 7970. But in terms of what's relevant right now, the 7970 would be the better buy as a 770 and 780 are overpriced.

I have no idea where you get that from.

I mostly play TES V:

True true. Just wondering what the general public thought about each card in terms of performance and price (my mistake for not stating that in my OP).

PS. I found a guy selling a GTX 690 for $750  Said he wants to buy a Titan. What a guy..

In term of price for performance the HD7970 is the best since it will get the same performance as a GTX 680 while the GTX770 will get the performance of a GTX680 and a GTX780 will get the performances of a GTX titan.

Whilst the GTX 770 does get the same performance as the GTX 680 (in some cases), it also uses more power and I can't really justify buying one as it's also $150 more

Sony Vegas supports both OpenCL and CUDA, and with OpenCL being superior in performance to CUDA I'd go with an AMD card. The HD 7970 is also a mighty gaming card in its own right.

My current HD 7950 performs well in Vegas rendering times, so the HD 7970 is probably the best upgrade for me. Thanks.
