I want to start some serious case modding over the summer. You know, kinda like a personal project!
But your talking to a 14 year old that has little to none experience with drastically modifying a console's appearance. I couldn't imagine it could be too complex, but seeing others sporting their console in full pride really pushes me to do something just as cool and creative. I'll be doing a Ultra Violet themed case, complete with UV reactive fans(Two internal, at least one external), UV light strip, see through panel (Probably going to end up using the Xray kit), and a neon green finish to the shell (or case, whichever floats your boat).
First problem:
Fans, Fans, Fans.
These are the fans I was thinking of using:
Apevia 140mm UV fan (x1 {or more} external)
Apevia 80mm UV fan (x2 internal)
The only problem I have with the fans are that I have the slightest idea how to get power to them. The plugs they come stock with are of no resemblance to any type of plug found on a 360. So what do I do? Cut them and make some crude, makeshift connector to the existing fan? Do they sell adapters for these types plugs? This is my main obstacle here, so if you can't help me anywhere else, try to help me here.
Also, light source is a problem. Same as mentioned above, will this require an adapter of sorts? Do you know of a place that sells compact, UV LED light strips?
140mm fan(s) will be placed like so:
Second problem:
Visiblity
I couldn't imagine this to be too difficult but there obviously needs to be a way to see inside the box.
I guess I'll be using the Talismoon Xray 360 (Amazon page)
Has anybody had experience with this panel? Is it sturdy? And where can you buy this that ship to the USA?
How about that window cutting tool they sell? Does it work, or is it better just to stick with a Dremel?
And that's pretty much the major things I need help with. You have no idea how long a little bit of help will go, so implore you to post your answers to my questions.
And for you selfish leeches: All HELPFUL posts will be +Rep'd
~Thanks
