Trust me. Tigerdirect.com
IS WAY BETTER. FREE SHIPPING. NO SALES TAX. (Unless your in NC, FL or IL)

I could help you build a computer as good as mine.

Here are my specs and referrals.

Mobo
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4316659&Sku=P450-9124
This is MY mobo.

Here is one that supports 1336 socket CPU's.

Here is the ONLY CPU it supports.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5975150&CatId=4072

Hint:The motherboard I have now, supports 775 CPU sockets. Other boards support higher sockets, which support like Intel i7 or i3. The link is the motherboard I bought. You can get better, but my pc is a general work station.

HDD
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5265070&CatId=4357

Hint: Tera-byte! 1TB is a GREAT HDD. Although if you feel. Get a 2TB HDD.

DVDBurner
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4959272&Sku=O451-1012%20OEM

Hint: Something sweet and special that will get the job done.

Ram
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=4505197&sku=K24-6040&srkey=k246040

This is the ram i'm getting.

Hint:biggrin:ual Channel, 1066MHz is "ok" but higher is better. If you are making a gaming pc, than you want a gaming pc and are using the ASUS mobo I told you about, then get 24GB of memory. But you will HAVE to run WIn7 or XP on a 64BIT.

CPU
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3877291&CatId=3677
This CPU is a 775 socket.

Hint: When getting a CPU for your motherboard, make sure they're compatible.
Socket 775 will only fit boards supporting 775 sockets.

PWRSPLY
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4558892&CatId=2534

This is the one I'm referring you to. I don't have this one. This one is a 800 watt power supply.

Hint:If you are gaming, look for a 700+ watt.

Graphics Card
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6045774&CatId=3669

Hint: Graphics cards like this one ^ are greatly priced and well performing cards at that.

And now...
Your total is... 798.93

Ditch the following:

Socket 775 (EoL. Time to upgrade to 1366).
Xeon processor (a q9xxx is cheaper and has the exact same performance)
PSU (800w is way overkill for that system, 500w would be closer to what you need)
GPU (for a little bit more you could get something a lot better... GTX 260/275.. or stroll on over to the dark side and look at ATi's new offerings that support DX11).
