Since it is Cyber Monday, instead of waiting for Jan 1 to build a rig, I figured this would be better. What would you guys recommend? Definitely wanting an SSD for my OS, thinking 128-256gb.

I'm more looking for price to power deals, so that's why I'm thinking AMD would be better. I won't have hours on hours to play each day like a lot of people but I do want a good system I can come home to and if I don't have anything to do, have a good system that will play most games on high settings.

I'm mostly planning on Bf4 to play. I already have a decent monitor but if there is a good deal on one, I may buy. I also have a storage drive, a gaming mouse and mousepad.

$1k budget (a lil more depending on the deals too). Forgot to mention I do have a DVD burner, would like to get a Bluray drive (not a burner, just a reader).

What does your motherboard support? Sata 3 or Sata 6?

EDIT: What do you plan for memory? 8, 16, 32? mhz?

I don't have a motherboard yet. I was thinking at least 8gb, not sure what is needed for most games right now.

Hows http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2dy2j or if you want a higher factory clock http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2dy4g . You could also change the psu to a modular one if you want to or upgrade HDD to 1TB.

I have a 1.5TB hdd, I thought I mentioned having a storage drive. I just need an SSD.

I didn't mention having a keyboard, but I do have a crappy one and also have a mechanical gamepad. I wouldn't mind getting a keyboard that I can type good on...bc the one I have, the keys have begun to stick when typing.

8GB will be enough for all games. If you are going to be running a lot of applications, which you most likely will, get 16.

8GB is sufficient unless doing heavy rendering etc. Games use on average less than 1-2GB. Keyboards are up to the user's taste. The problem i have with mechanical ones are that they keys are loud when pressed (annoying imo) and they're overly expensive. A normal/gaming keyboard is just fine. I have the logitech G105 MW3 edition and it's fine.

Yeah, I don't think I'll need more than 8gb. This computer is mostly going to be for gaming and browsing when I want to sit at a desk. Rare usage would be for photoshop and 8gb should be fine for that I would think.

Depends on what motherboard you get, a lot of motherboards still don't support 2400 mhz memory so you need to be careful.

I found a Samsung 250gb SSD for $169.99 but you get a $20 Rebate and if you purchase it through V.me, you save another $20 though I don't know if AzzidReign AzzidReign wants to use V.me. I saw this deal on Reddit.

Here's the link.

Edit: The deal ends today.
