Would defragging my hard drive and cleaning my registry allow me to gain GB's of space?
No. It will speed you up, but no it won't free much space.
really.... cuz I just gained 10 GB. I'm worried now......
ask azzid its the one dank as program
I already have a registry cleaner.
it docent just clean your registry
look just use it and you'll see the results
it cleaned 12GB my first time
I'd reccomend Ccleaner too. I try to use it about once a month. Most it ever got for me was 3 gigs, but usually gets around 200mb
the minimum i get for ccleaner every day is 3 gigs  (too much junk in my comp?)
anywayz try this
first go to start
the to all programs
then to accessories
then to system tools
then run disk cleanup
choose Files form all users
if asked to run as admin klick continue
then click ok
let it finish loading then click more options
when it finishes
then u have more memory
^ CCleaner does the same stuff and more. Also, you won't have more memory afterwards, you'll have more storage space on your hard drive.
but isnt that wat he wants? to gain more storage space, memory on the hdd,
wat i did is i showed how to delete the system restores vista automatically does, usually cleaning up to around 30-40 gigs
30-40 gigs is really really excessive for most people. If you manage to free 30-40 gigs you probably haven't done that in maybe 10 years.
thats a lot of space i have 1TB so i dont worry much about space.
umm... thanks for all the suggestions on how to gain space, but my real concern here is how I gained 10 Gigs without deleting anything.
I gained 10 gigs after defragging and cleaning the registry.
If you would have used ccleaner you could have cleared like 20GB's.
ok.... you're missing my point.... people don't normally gain that much disk space from routine defrags and registry cleanings. So why the heck do I have 10 more GB's when I didn't a few days ago?
it could be a lot of things
idk lots of things, when i first got vista it ate 16GB off my HD
Don't worry about it unless you notice something missing.
