I've just bourght a new Samsung drive for my xbox 360, i tried replacing the logicboards, but it appears that the old one is quite simply dead.
I can't play games when i change the logicboards etc, so i put the original logicboard back into the new DVD drive i bought.
I think i have to flash the key or something for the new drive to work?
Can somebody help me or link me to a tutorial telling me how to do this?

Thanks

If you cannot get the keys from the old drive, you are simply wasting your time.
Unless of course the console is exploitable.

Yeah i realise this.
I need somebody to talk to about getting the keys from my old dvd drive to the new one.
I put the old logicboard into my new drive, and it works except from when i play a game the xbox 360 logo comes up and the game doesn't play?

It works and stuff the old drive, it just brings up an xbox 360 logo instead of playing the game and it says "play dvd" instead of "play game".
When i connect the new DVD drive, it doesn't even eject?

so the old drive works the original one and when it is installed and you try to play with the old drive it just says play dvd if that is the case i don't even think the old drive is the original drive

If it brings up a Xbox Logo then you laser is either dead or the dvd drive key is wrong. You can always try grabbing the laser out of the new drive and put it on the old one.

The DVD key will be wrong then because i can't work out how to get it from the old drive and flash it onto the new drive.
I'm quite clueless with this and having windows 7 isn't helping either, be easier if i had XP or something.

Are you sure the original drive is Hitachi, and not a Toshiba Samsung?

taking a pcb board out of one drive & putting it in another drive obviously wont work because you need the drive key to match with your 360's. have you tried putting your original drive back together & seeing if you can pull up the drive properties in jungleflasher ? if you can get them to show up in JF the chance's are is that you may be able to read it & then flash it to your new drive.

Excuse me?

The PCB Board is what contains the DVD Key. Swapping them works just fine, as long as the drive that the original board is being put into is verified to be a working drive.
