I have an External Western Digital My Book Essentials 250 Gb Hard Drive. I think i removed the program on it that automatically had it start up. Is there a way I can connect to it manually or make it so it will start up automatically again. Thanks

It's a plug and play device. You really shouldn't need that program as long as you can access the drive itself.

Does the drive work? I mean can you save to it, and access files on it? If it works you don't need another program running on startup, all that's doing is boggin you down a little bit.

It's a plug and play device, really there shouldn't be any software to go alongside it, besides an operating system. Try plugging it into a different computer.
