Error 1016

    Hi, my iphone will not let me restore it, it goes through all the stuff and gets to the final verifying part then tells me "an unknown error has occurred(1016)"
    any help would be nice
    It is not a 4g, it is a 3g or 3gs ( im not exactly sure)
    and yes I have tryed , installing the newest itunes/ dfu restore

    Have you tried the shift + restore method with the original firmware?

    have you tried using a different usb port?

    Yeah I tryed that, still didn't work, if its anyhelp its a iPhone 3g

    Try Recovery Mode

    Yeah I've tryed that aswel, it still gets to the last part of the restore then says error 1016

    It seems to be stuck in recovery mode whenever i reboot it

    If you become stuck in Recovery Mode click Exit Recovery Mode
    If you can not enter Recovery Mode click Enter Recovery Mode

    I ended up fixing it by using a custom firmware image , s*** it only took me two days to get it to work[​IMG]
