Try re-formatting the iPod using iTunes and then instead of manually doing FatX, plug it into the xbox and let the xbox format the iPod itself.
Thank u for your quick reply..but still wont read files ..ive tried running explorer360 in admi ,turned off all antivirus .im at a loss ive been messing with this thing all day .im in this thing about $80 bucks already between the game ,console ,adapter, ipod im quickly running out of patience lol

So strange that the iPod would not work for you. Just checked and mine still works fine.

thanks for the guide, but i was never able to get methods like this to work in the past. i always just used a controller plugged into my pc using a spare break away controller i spliced a usb male onto. that way you can use real memory cards. flash drives either always failed or the xbox would format them, and then after doing the pc part it would format them again.

How would you do this with a memory card? I've seen a few on eBay and were wondering how to softmod using one of those.

If you had a memory card with the games already on it just put the memory card in your controller move over the save game and launch the game and follow the exploit for that

If you buy one of thoes, all you have to do is plug it in and copy the save from that location to your system and start the exploit.

Just like what Reedradar said above me.

Thanks for sharing. I know this is an old post but I am going to give this a go some time this week. Waiting on Splinter Cell. x360 explorer early version though? I found one. Have no idea whether it's the old version or not though. My brother gave me his old modded box that is xecuter chip modded. Will a soft modded box work the same or even a TSOP version of it? There are so many different approaches and times when these were used that it is a bit confusing. Since we don't go live on xbox any more perhaps there is an easier way to get the same stuff done.

There is not much of a difference between a hard-modded and soft-modded systems. TSOP mods are a little closer to what hard-modded systems can do, which is upgrade the hdd without having to get an unlocked drive and Eprom from your system.

Overall the TSOP flashing is the most reliable and you can do the most on it, but the soft-mod is one of the easiest and cheapest type of mod to do.

for those who dont have a usb that works. you can use an android phone *ROOTED*

download drivedroid on the app store.

open drivedroid from there you should see a plus sign at the bottom press that then create a blank image
here are the things you need to enter
filename: this can be anything
size: 300 MB
partition table should be checked
then at the none option press it and click FAT

then from there press the check mark at the top this will create the image. if it doesn't show press the reload button at the bottom.

from there you want to press the image you created. it should come up with host image with a list of options. in the first line which has mass storage 1 press writable usb where the usb icon is.

now from there you are done plug your phone into the usb adapter you have connected to the xbox and if all goes well it will show up. now just continue with the softmod Atlas Atlas has provided

also sometimes after your done with the softmod you have the files on the phone/usb it doesn't show up go back into drivedroid press the image you created and then press writable usb again
