Is it possible to downgrade from iOS 9.3.5 to 8.4.1 without jailbreak? I have an iPad mini first generation and since the update, it's almost unusable, it lags too much, I can barely type on it.
If this isn't possible, what could I do to downgrade?

Restore it to factory settings, if it hasn't been fixed, then jailbreak it with phoenix and downgrade. You don't have to jailbreak iOS 8.4.1.

By the way, this will remove all content on the device.

I already reset it and still no luck, it lags. I can barely use Safari, YouTube or Facebook app.

Can you please give me more instructions on how can I jailbreak it and downgrade? I did read already a lot of articles about this including the thread on the forum, but I am still confused. Do I need that SHSH Blobs and how can I find that?

Nope. No SHSH blobs are required!

I actually did this process with my mini myself, so I'll do my best to give you an accurate description.

1. Head to https://phoenixpwn.com/ and press the download button
2. Follow the instructions on the phoenix website (disregard the 9th and 10th step for now)

I appreciate that this might be difficult because of your device's state, but you're gonna have to bear with it I'm afraid.
3. Open up cydia and install this source
Code:
http://pwn20wnd.github.io/repo/eraser
4. Install "Remover"
Watch from here up until the point where he installs iFile
5. Install "Filza File Manager" using the same method as above
6. In Filza navigate to
Code:
/System/Library/CoreServices/
Hit the [Root] element in the favourites tab, then just click on the folders in the directory tree above (starting from the left).
7. Scroll until you find "System Version.plist"
8. Tap on it, then tap on "Root"
9. Press the "i" with a circle around it, next to the "ProductBuildVersion"
10. Change the "Value" to
Code:
10A406
11. Press the button in the top left hand corner
12. Press the "i" next to "ProductVersion"
13. Change the "Value" to "6.0" (YES, that is not a typo, 6.0)
14. Press the button in the top left hand corner, then hit "Save" in the top right hand corner.
15. Hit "Done" in the top left hand corner.
16. Exit Filza, and open up "Remover"
17. Select the "Phoenix" option and let it do its thing.
18. Go to
Code:
Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings
19. Enter all your information etc
20. Once rebooted go to
Code:
Settings > General > Software Update
and update to iOS 8.4.1 like you would any other update.
21. Do everything in the setup.
22. Go to
Code:
Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings
and repeat (do not update again!).
23. Enjoy.

Thank you! You are a lifesaver! I can finally use my iPad mini at least for some YouTube and Facebook activity.
