Defrag Safe?

    Mine is usually at like 5-8 % when my computer tells me to defrag, is it safe to defrag at that percentage she has? :huh:

    Yes. The only exception, I'm guessing, would be if they were using Share or Winny or Perfect Darkness (or any other similar peer-to-peer sharing clients). It might screw with your partially downloaded files. I'm not sure about that, but I know that I defragmented my dad's PC when it was at a much higher fragmentation rate than your friend's.

    thanks. my other friend had his computer since xp and never defragged. his was at 80% i think. lol.

    It is safe, and he is in dire need. Have him do it overnight, asap.

    no problem. I will also prescribe a good registry clean, spyware/virus scan, cclean, and deletetion of anything he doesn't need .. prior to the defrag.

    its a girl. therefor, i will have to do that stuff for her. she thinks there are actual songs in itunes... so i think "clean the registry and run a disk clean up" would break her brain.
