I am on right now. Do your avatars show up when your first boot the dash?
Edit: btw you can try the update. If it's avatar it will finish. If it's a real update you will just get an error with a button "Return to the dashboard". I have been doing this for a few years now haven't been bricked ever from an update, it's a nice way to verify if it's an update or avatars.

i updated dash a few days ago played online etc.. then i had an update to do but i didnt think it was avatars as i was online then i just took the chance and updated it but its fine it was only for the avatars
