Yes... another computer problem. This problem is on my personal computer, not my sister's which I was dealing with yesterday (which I fixed  ).

Anyway my friend dropped my computer on Saturday. As soon as it dropped I turned it on and it was working fine. I then left it for the rest of the night in a corner (it was hibernating so no over heat). I then tried to turn it on the next day and it flashed the red LED (5 times) like it was dead. I then made sure it was all plugged in because the wall adapter was halfway plugged in. Retried, no go. Retried in a few other wall sockets, no go. Now I can't go on my computer and I am kinda pissed. The damn thing won't charge!

I was wondering if you guys know what the problem could be. I am 100% sure it is a hardware problem. At first i thought it was a problem with the battery because it is old and it has had a VERY low battery life for a while now (like 5min off the charger). Then I went to go buy one off line and was unsure, so I looked around some more and saw that it could be a problem with a connection on the motherboard or a problem with the plugin socket for the cable?

Just wondering if you guys have ever experienced this problem or no anything about a hardware error that could cause this.

To reiterate:
  • Dropped it
  • Turned on when I dropped and worked fine.
  • Doesn't recognize that it's charging
  • Won't turn on now (guessing it's dead)
  • Red light flashes 5 times when power button is pressed.
  • Tried other wall sockets.
  • Don't have another computer or charger to try to charge it.
  • A green light comes on in the charger when it is plugged into the wall.
Computer: Gateway NV52

Battery: AS09A75 Li-ion/11.1V/4400mAh/56Wh

Edit: making this post caused me to burn my pizza so you guys better help!

Not at all

Why?

HALP!
Just a theory. I had a similar issue with my laptop after it took a fall. The battery wasn't extremely loose, but I had to take it out and re-arrange it in there. I was hoping your problem would have an equally simple fix :/
