COD4 hardcore HUD mod TUT

    this mod is to allow your HUD to show up in any hardcore match.
    to activate HUD, while in game go to start the options then back out to the in game screen.
    every time a UAV goes up or down the HUD will disappear.( just reactivate it)
    Step 1:
    Dump xbox live profile to your pc (use other tut to find out how if you don’t already know)

    Step 2:
    Open file in a hex editor (mine is hex editor neo)

    Step 3: find “set gpad_buttonsConfig”
    [​IMG]
    Step 4: check MOTD to make sure its cod 4 not cod 5
    [​IMG]
    Step 5: Change all cod 4 set gpad_buttonsConfig “button_default” to set gpad_buttonsConfig”default_mp_gamesettings”
    [​IMG]
    Step 6: because its bigger then the original replace clipping setting to …………..(dots must be hex 00)
    [​IMG]
    Step 7: repeat for all cod 4 set gpad_buttonsConfig
    Step 8: rehash, and inject to HDD

    You don't have to resign it, just rehash. Use xbox 360 hash calc

    ummm so you have to do all those to get the hud back??? theres an easier way just draw on your tv with a dry erase marker and trace your hud in a normal game then go to hardcore :x3:. i did not start this and only got the idea from vvSTRIDEvv

    When i search set gpad_buttonsConfig the string set is gpad_buttonsConfig "buttons_experimental, am i still ok to proceed ? Is it anything to do with the fact i play on tactical controls ?

    you can mod it but when you do i think it will be set back to default setup.

    Im new to the whole hex editing ideal so forgive me if what i ask comes across as stupid ^^!. Anyways i follow the tutorial and on step # 6 i get confused exactly. So do you just enter those .... (dots) like in the pic? Lastly my noob question of the day in Neo how do you make it so when your entering information in the right hand side it doesn't overwrite the data. Because ive been having to copy and insert :\ Anyways if someone could help me out i would really appreciate it.

    I just awnsered one of my own questions just by reading my post lol...
    To write without overwriting data in Neo just hit Insert. Its in the top right hand corner of your keyboard. Then you can type at will ^^!

    What does MOTD mean or stand for?

    I found "set gpad_buttonsConfig" 4 different times in 4 different places and I'm not sure if it's COD 4 or COD WaW. It's hard to tell which is which.

    Thanks for this. I'm new to modding, and don't have my transfer kit yet, but it looks simple enough.

    Message of the Day. It's the small information box that displays stuff like 'Follow @fourzerotwo on Twitter for news' or whatever. It's in the bottom left of your screen when you're in the party lobby.

    im in desperate help...everytime i do the mod and rehash with hash calculator, when i start up my xbox, my profile isnt on my system, and when i try to recover it tells me my harddrive doesnt have enough space... and when i load the backup in, my profile works just fine...any answers?
