My friend has a Linksys wrt110 router and I'm trying to help him get his NAT from moderate to open for Xbox Live. Anyone know of a legitimate way to do it that actually works?

Thank you for being awesome!
He needs to open the ports.

He also needs to setup a static ip on his Xbox, and select it when opening ports. When you put the ports in whats the correct way to set it? Like protocol and what not. I tried it on this site from his laptop and didn't open it up.

What should he set the xbox ip to?1. Set static IP on Xbox.
2. Put the Xbox IP into the De-Militarized Zone (DMZ) in your router settings.
Done.
Depends which router he has. Try searching for help with setting a static IP, I don't have the time to go into it right now. What should he set the xbox ip to?
Thats all he has to do?
If you just put the static Xbox IP into the De-Militarized Zone (DMZ) this opens ALL ports to that IP address, which removes the need for opening the ports you specified.i have a ****** *** modem and i had Strict NAT - the worst
it took me forever to open it
everything you need is at portforward.com
you gotta have your xbox use a static ip to get to the modem

ports you gotta forward...
TCP - 53
TCP - 80
TCP - 3074
UDP - 53
UDP - 88
UDP - 3074

It's safe to have the entire port range open for an Xbox, as it's virtually impossible to exploit the Xbox via conventional backdoor techniques.
I'll do it for him on team viewer. You need your local ip to access the router, too.
What exactly should I do in order to open the NAT. That's all I want to do. Would prefer a simple method, but anythings fine as long as it works 100% of the time.
Just check out mattie 432s new youtube channel, he describes how to do it
