Change Assaultrifle to Boomshot

Is there anyway to do this. Ive hex edited the save and replace the

GearGame.GearWeap_AssaultRifle

to

GearGameContentWeapons.GearWeap_Boomshot

rehashed and resigned but it does not load.:cursing:
