DOWNLOAD OUR MODDED GAMESAVE: YouShare - CHDMG.rar - by Guest

1. Rehash and Resign the "dchd_savedata" gamesave to your own Xbox 360 Profile (Gamertag) and Console IDs.

2. The Xbox 360 folder ID for Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is: 58410A7A.

FEATURES OF OUR MODDED GAMESAVE:

1. All chapters and difficulies are ulocked.

2. All items, powers, upgrades, etc... are unlocked and maxed out to level/quantity of 9.

3. Various items/stats are also STACKED increase each character's stats!

4. Soma Cruz is set to his "Ghost" Costume. Read out tutorial about how to make him a "Silhouette" where he is completely blacked out.

IMPORTANT! Going into the "STORE" or clicking on a modified item's location from the MENU whehther from the Main Menu or from within a game you are playing will RESET the modified item to whatever is suppose to be in that location.

You can change your X/Y weapons and your "B" button powers from within the game, but do NOT click on anything else that is clearly modded into that location. You can view what is equipped, but DO NOT click on it if it's been modded to that location.

Example: Don't click on Heavy Armor that is located in the Legs or Accessories spot. The same goes for stuff in the "Y" and "RB" button locations.

HEX VALUES FOR THE QUANITY / LEVEL(XP) OF AN ITEM:

STARTING CHARACTER: 0x000102C8

Each Character is represented by a number with Soma Cruz having multiple values that currenty work.

01 Soma Cruz
02 Alucard
03 Jonathan Morris
04 Soma Cruz
05 Soma Cruz
06 Shanoa
07 Charlotte Aulin

* Any other value seems to just put in Soma Cruz. It's possible that when DLC is available these other values will no longer default to Soma Cruz.

STARTING CHARACTER COSTUME: 0x000102C9

Costume (As viewed from within the game) / HEX Value

1. 00
2. 01
3. 02
4. 03
5. 04
6. 05
7. 06
8. 07

Soma Cruz has two additional costumes, although one is more of a glitch than a costume.

09. 08 (silhouette), 09 also makes a silhouette. Other values make the first costume.

10. 0A (ghost) - His whole body is white with some white and grey clothin. Almost as if he were a ghost.

The other characters don't appear to have any other costumes beside the eight that are shown in the game.
Putting in the ghost/white (0A) and silhouette (08, 09) for anyone other than Soma Cruz only gives you the first costume of that particular character as does any other value you put in there that's NOT representive of the original eight costumes.

We haven't checked every single number so if you find any other costumes, let us know!

UNLOCK ALL LEVELS FOR NORMAL and HARD DIFFCULTIES: 0x000106BC to 0x000106C7

Each level unlocked is represented by "01". The first byte is for NORMAL and the next byte is for HARD, then the next chapter.

Example of chapters 1-6 NORMAL and HARD: 010101010101010101010101

QUANTITY OF EQUIPPED FOOD/POTION:

You can hold up to nine of any food or potion.

HEX VALUES: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09.

Soma Cruz: 0x000102B8
Alucard: 0x000102B9
Jonathan Morris: 0x000102BA
Shanoa: 0x000102BD
Charlotte Aulin: 0x000102BE

TIPS ON CHARACTER'S CHOSEN ITEMS:

* Although it's shown differently in the game, "Back" is located before "Legs" in the gamesave. This applies to all playable characters.

1. Much like in the video game Borderlands, you can stack individual items multiple times and even intermix certain items between characters.

2. Unique powers (RB) can be replaced and the power will remain while the modded power/ability/gear that you put in that location will also work!!! This dos NOT work on "X" button weapons as overwriting those items will remove them from the game.

3. The Enchantement Souls exclusive to Soma Cruz can be placed onto any of the other Characters. We highly recommend using "The Creature" and "Treant".

4. Weapons designated to the X and Y buttons (Soma Cruz and Alucard) cannot be intermixed between other characters. Doing so will result in you NOT having anything assigned to that button. Weapons that hold both the X and Y buttons cannot be split so that you can hold two different two handed weapons at once.

5. Each character, other than Soma Cruz has EMPTY spaces as well as other locations that you cannot enter items into. These locations are EXCELLENT for adding Soma Cruz's Enchantment Souls powers, as well as Defensive Gear.

6. Every location can be used to place a stat including the spots designated for the "B" button abilities.

7. The Item chosen for the "potion/food" for each character can be maximized to 9. It will NOT go higher, even if you put in a higher value. It is recommended you use a different item for each character, as they all share the same potion/food and using it up for one character removes it for every other character as well.

8. If you click on Offensive/Defensive Gear it will reset to something else that is suppose to be in that location. You can view what you have equipped, just don't click on it to see any other items you can choose from.

UPDATE: Additional Mods

Here are some additional Mods to let you have Unlimited use of Special Abilities without expending any Mana "MP" (Magic).

HERE'S A TIP: If you press "LB" and "B" at the same time to activate your Magical Attack you can SPAM the ability a lot faster than simply using the "B" button by itself. This works on all "B" and "D-PAD" (↑→↓) button attacks. However, some of the abilities won't necessarily shoot SUPER DUPER FAST. Works amazingly well with Charlotte's Death Sythes. If you have a programmable turbo contorller, obviously this will go a lot faster and easier.

 * Special Thanks to "Turk645" for taking the time in figuring out these particular "Unlimited Magic Attacks" mods and for making their research available for everyone to use. Thanks again!

We've made a "NEW" gamesave that has these "Unlimited" magic abliities set for a variety of abilities for each character. You can always follow the tutorial to edit your own gamesave for whatever abilities you want to use instead.

DOWNLOAD THE "NEW" gamesave here: http://www.youshare.com/Guest/c888d7d947c8c826.rar.html

The compressed ".rar" file containing the gamesave can be extracted using "WINRAR". You can find this program using any Search Engine.

1. Rehash and Resign the "dchd_savedata" gamesave to your own Xbox 360 Profile (Gamertag) and Console IDs.

2. The Xbox 360 folder ID for Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is: 58410A7A.

XD I now expect this to become widespread

Here is the info for MP free skill use. It is pretty straight forward, just match up numbers and use the hex of the food item that has a matching number of the skill you want and you will use it with 0 mp cost. So say you wanted an MP free Yorick, you would see that it's slot 21 and match it with the slot 21 food, liccorice, and put it's hex code for the b button slot you want it.

Very nice, I have been waiting for something like this for a couple days now.
Just a request, can you make a super attack file instead of defense? I am not good with Hex so half of that I do not understand.

Otherwise, you can get the 1mil gold achievement and the 10k kills achievements with this but not the 300 items due to the compendium already being full with every item.

Thank you very much.

1st off, Thanks for the guide and the save file. I also would like a super attack file, unlike the guy above me im very comfortable with hex. I opened MY file and only added a second Valmanway, 2 miser rings, changed both the un-selectable spots to minotor spirit, winged boots, and drac tunic all in there respectable places. Nothing the save file was empty, no items no completions no kills ect. i went back and used Your save file, worked like a charm! I went and used your file to place miser rings in EVERY Alucard spot (except weapons)and again nothing there, i then went back to your original file and only place miser rings where your heavy armors were and again nothing. any suggestions??

From our experience, this will happen if you DO NOT rehash and resign the gamesave file. You won't get a warning that the file is corrupt or NOT working. It simply won't load anything but whatever is there by default as if it were a brand new save.

Be sure to Rehash and Resign the gamesave after any modifications.

I did every time, notice i said yours worked

EDIT: I got it working, idea what was causing the problem. Thanks again.

Stuff like those is in the file we posted, and it's in anyone's Castlevania: HD" gamesave, that is if YOU know what you are doing.

If you cannot understand ANY of this then you should probably read up on how to understand ANY of this instead of diving head first into something you may have never done before. Then again, the gamesave was included for a reason, for those who either don't know what they are doing or simply would rather have an already modded gamesave. If you don't know how to rehash/resign an Xbox 360 gamesave to your own Profile/Console IDS, then there are plenty of tutorials out there for that as well.

The information we provided in the OP is NOT intended to be a beginner's guide to using a Hex Editor, such as HxD, Hex Workshop, or any other for that matter. However, Se7ensins, and the Internet in general can be a great source in learning how use a Hex Editor and/or edit Xbox 360 gamesaves for those who've never done so before.

However, it's really quite simple to either manually scroll through the gamesave to find the particular offset or to use the GoTo Function, "CTRL+G", to go directly to the particular offset in question.

If we are to ASSUME you are simply typing or copying/pasting "0x0000D42A", "0x0000D4A0". or "0x0000D4A1" in it's entirety or partly using "CTRL+F" as it it were a HEX or DECIMAL value, then that is your first mistake. These are NOT values, or "codes" as you put it, that you "Find" an instance of in the file.

Scroll through the file manually or use the GoTo Function "CTRL+G" to get to any of offsets in question. Just for reference, the "0x" and the zeros after it are basically a placeholder and is not necessary when you are using the "GoTo" function. In addition, most Hex Editors also reference the particular offset you are highlighting and/or scrolling through on the bottom lefthand side of the screen.

You might want to consider reading up on some How-To Guides for HxD, Hex Workshop, or Hex Editors in General in conjunction with Xbox 360 gamesave editing.

Good luck.

should be noted that if you put an item in the hunter move slot that everything but the ATK and DEf part of it will work. So if you put the Heavy armor there you will get the HP boost and the small defence boost from the CON. Great if you still want to use items like the wingboots but dont want to sacrafice defence or offence, that is if you dont mind not using one or two Hunter slots .

It Most certainly does? I just went and unequipped my miser rings from those slots and it took 10 ATT away every time. Maybe you mean the personal Skills/ Souls slot? i tried putting Winged boots in the Personal Skills slot and it does not work.

I also have an updated list with locations for maria and julius' equipmenmt spots For when teh DLC comes out if the OP doesnt.

1 More thing as an observation in the game save codes, When maria and julius are added marias offsets are at the end of everyone elses. While Julius' are in the middle of them all (this is the way they are displayed on the char select screen also) after Julius' offsets theres exactly enough hex code open for another char.... maybe a 3rd char in the 2nd DLC?

This guide is amazing and has helped me do quite a lot, but there are still some things I would like to know.

I saw a blood red/blackish Soma with a purple trail on the leaderboards. Anybody know what the code for this outfit is? He also had it so he never used MP, he used Gergoth soul (50 MP) about 5 times with no penalty.

I would also like to know if you can stack multiple items into ONE equipment slot (eg. 2 Berserker Mails in the 'head' slot) or if there are any hidden spots where you can equip stuff?

I have about 12 Berserker Mails on my Alucard and when I start a run, it only registers that I have 2 equipped, but then after about a minute it registers that I have the other 10. Anyone know why or have a fix for this?

Thanks.

He probably stumbled across the same thing i did that allows a B button skill to be used without cost, although i bet odds are he stumbled on it by mistake and just happened to get it with Gergoth's soul. You cant stack more equipment onto one slot, game isnt programed that way.

I planned on releasing how to do the 0 mp trick. I just need to finish building the list for soma since his souls are all in a strange order.

I have yet to test it but did you equip a soul in a weapon slot and the 2nd weapon in a souls lot then switch the buttons?

I doubt he did. I got mine randomly without switching any controls around.
Shanoa has fulgur in ( B )
Soma has Gergoth in → ( B )
Alucard has Tetra spirit in ( B )

Try some of your characters, I'll bet some have gotten a free hunter skill somehow. Unlusess you'v only modded Soma so far... Wish I knew how it works. :frown:
