I have never opened a 360 so correct me if I am wrong.

I plan on putting a window in my 360, and to my understanding there is the outside plastic case, and under that is a metal casing that holds the motherboard etc.

So if I wanted to put a window in would I need to cut a window in the plastic case AND the metal one on the inside? OR would the metal one be completely removed?

    Thanks.

No, when you open your 360, just rip the metal (really thin layer) off the top part of the case. Its a useless little tin, and pulls off easy with no damage to the case. I'm pretty sure it will increase air flow through your 360.

Not the OP here (Obviously) but that's pretty interesting, I never new you could just rip it off. What if you want to send it in for RROD will they notice that?

    Yes.

Anything said here would void your warranty.
