Some things have gone missing on my PC. I am thinking of just re-installing windows to be safe.
Advise?

The .dmp file was loads of random stuff which was too long to post when I opened it in Notepad and I couldn't find the .xml file...

Virus, deleted some of your files. Best thing to do would be to reinstall windows and flash your bios.

How do I flash bios?

Its a little complicated, I would recommend looking it up on youtube.
Ive had the same problem you had though. I clicked on a link that took me to a untrusted site.
And the virus I got completely f***ed up my computer. It deleted some of my Microsoft files.
When I reinstalled them with my disk it just deleted them again. So I had to reinstall Windows.
Even if you can get it to boot up the virus is still there. And it probably contains spyware, etc.
So if you completely reinstall Windows and flash your bios everything should be okay afterwards.

Do I really need to flash it? Would re-installig windows not be enough?

Its up to you. But I would do both since flashing the bios is like the icing on the cake.

Flashing the BIOS does absolutely nothing in regards to reinstalling Windows. Flashing BIOS can be dangerous if you don't really know what it is and what you are doing.

Sometimes icing tastes like s***.

Thanks, I guess I will just re-install Windows.
