ok for how long though cause i've tried that for about 3 min straight and nothing happened, then i tried combining the power button into the mix but that road was unsuccessful as well

I also like to note that i have a 360 Elite if that makes any differance

It has the disc read error where even though theres a disk inside it pretends there isn't.

buy a new dvd drive or do the pot fix, which was unsuccessfull for me because i didnt have a multimeter, I do now though!

OR if you want to just force rrod, short out the plug where the power supply connects to the xbox.

what do you mean, how do you do the pot fix? you adjust the potentiometers on the dvd laser so that it is brighter and can read your discs easier.

To bad I already told microsoft my xbox's problem or else I could have rrod my xbox and gotten a free one. If I rrod it now they would probably think somthings up and not fix it.

Thanks for the help, but that ended up not being the problem. I meant to post earlier today, but anyways, the motor in my DVD drive either got jammed or just plain died. I opened the 360, opened the DVD drive, then tried to play a disc. The laser was perfectly fine, and the disc refused to spin, even with a little help. I ordered a new DVD drive in the mail, so when it gets here I'll have to switch the circuit boards and try it out. Luckily, the 360 works out of the case and without a DVD drive, so I can still play arcade games and demos online. Thanks again for the help, even though it can't help me.

The DVD drive will get here in 2-5 days, depending on where it's being shipped from. Including last night, that could be a maximum of 6 days taken to fix my 360. I'd rather wait 6 days than 5 weeks. I'm pretty impatient lol.

As long as it works, man. Time is not a factor except for when you are paying for XBOX LIVE that you can't use, right? lol
