Effectively ending the Army of Two franchise, Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel was released earlier this year to low review scores and didn't chart in the NPD's top 10 for either March or April but it did manage to get 6th place in the UK debut before disappearing a few weeks later.

To shed some light on the troubled development of The Devil's Cartel, Executive Producer Julian Beak (who started working at Electronic Arts in January of 2012) posted his recollection of what happened on LinkedIn (via Videogamer)

"Recruited late in development to nuture the team at Visceral Games Montreal to deliver a strufggling product in very little time. Reversed negative trajectory of team's morale. Rebuilt confidence and a trustworthy cultur through hard work and the frequent celebration of success. Modeled and coached honesty, tenacity and commitment at all levels. The team's new high-standard of proficiency was apploed too late and the predictable result was an underwhelming production."

The experience with The Devil's Cartel has not sullied Beak's outlook as 'Unannounced Awesomeness' is listed a his current project.
