I'm trying to make 3d modded cars. I used to create them on ps3 with mod menu and transferred them to ps4 back in the day.

I'm using the stand mod menu on pc now. I can create the colors just fine. The colors I'm talking about are using metal base then adjusting rgb to custom value and adding pearlescent. For example brushed steel + red rgb + yellow pearlescent. I put these kinds of colors on 7 of my cars in my garage and took them out and brought them back inside garage. When I change session, the metal base goes away and I'm left with just a rgb and pearlescent with no metal base.

Either my mod menu is no good for this, or I'm missing an extra step that is required to save the metal base or Rockstar fixed this and implemented a script that deletes the metal base when changing session.

Has anyone been able to make these colors and save them on pc with a mod menu?

I haven't tried saving modded cars on PC but I know that there is a script. They won't just save on PC. To save a modded car on PC you have to dupe it.

My cars are already saved. The 3d colors are not saving onto my cars. It loses the metal coat after changing sessions. I have no idea how to duplicate cars on stand mod menu on pc or I would have tried it. But I don't think that's the issue.

As you've already discovered, they don't save. The mods however do save if you dupe the car with the mods on it because you then would have a duped car with the mods on it. This is how all merges are done on PC. You don't have to like the answer but it is correct.

I managed to fix it. I just had to 3d paint it outside garage then drive it in. Now it's saved. Edit: first time I changed session, it saved. But going to single player and coming back into multiplayer got rid of the metal color again.

I finally got it to work. I saved the modded car into my menu then spawned a copy, added a tracker and insurance and it is 100% saved now.

Either you were right about the duplication or the process can be simplified by just spawning a car, modding it then adding tracker and insurance and driving into garage. Either way, thanks for the help. Now I know 2 methods of getting it to save modded colors.
