Xbox Patch Notes #6 :
Gameplay

  • Auto-run function has been added (from a standstill, double clicking L3 will activate auto-run)
  • Players can now drop equipped weapons with Y button when inventory screen is active
  • Grenades can once again be cycled by tapping right on D pad
  • Players can now cancel casting actions while the inventory screen is active
Optimization

  • Continued optimizations and crash fixes

  • Game controller guide has been updated
Bug fixes

  • Buildings around the Military Base have had their collision adjusted
  • Camera shake when riding as a passenger in vehicles has been reduced

Xbox One Patch Notes #7
Gameplay

We’ve listened to your feedback and further modified the damage players can inflict on vehicles, increasing areas of vulnerability. This includes:

  • Increased damage to the vehicle body, and significant damage to the wheels when targeted with gunfire
  • Increased vehicle damage when successfully targeted with a grenade
  • Both driver and passenger will suffer increased injuries from crashing into objects or other vehicles (Dacia, UAZ, and Buggy)
  • Slight reduction to player damage when being struck by a vehicle


Optimization

  • Continued optimization to controller input lag
  • Visual quality of the reticle is improved for Xbox One (Red Dot, Holographic, and 2x Sight)


Bug fixes

  • Resolved issue where inventory may highlight the wrong column when looting
  • The sensitivity setting for 4x Scope is now also applied to the permanent scope on the VSS
  • Auto-run (double-clicking the left stick) is disabled when aiming down sights
  • Players can now use the D-Pad while in the map view without switching melee, pistol, or throwing weapons
  • Removing the marker from the map when pressing (Y) will no longer switch primary/secondary weapons
  • Fixed issue where the crosshair is not correctly displayed after players reconnect to a game session

We are releasing a minor update this week, focused on fixing bugs or gameplay issues that were identified following the last patch release. Thanks to all of the community for the feedback and continued support of PUBG on Xbox One!

Gameplay

  • We received a lot of great feedback following the changes made to vehicle/player damage. We continue to tune and balance this element of gameplay, and are therefore reverting back to increased damage if a player is struck by a vehicle.


Bug fixes

  • Resolved an issue preventing players from vaulting over specific ledges and/or windows
  • The camera will now remain in the correct location following player death
  • Vehicles will no longer relocate to another position on the map after the player disembarks

We recognize and fully understand the challenges while playing through some of the more impactful issues, and appreciate your persistence and continued support throughout. We have been hard at work on this patch, and we wanted to take the time necessary to ensure stability before rolling it out into Xbox Game Preview.   • Introduced multiple pre-match starting locations in order to optimize both server and game client performance
  • Weapons are removed from the starting island prior to the match starting
  • Game DVR is now supported for automatic recording of gameplay highlights. This feature must be enabled within the Options / Settings menu.
  • We continue to listen to your vehicle feedback and have lowered the damage taken from objects throughout the world such as rocks, trees, and uneven terrain
  • Adjusted the sound effects of both water and red-zone bombing
  • Party matchmaking is now influenced by the player’s MMR
  • Adjusted long-range blood VFX back to the original colors


UI/UX

  • Improved visibility of squad member colors (yellow, orange, blue and green)
  • Players can use the right thumbstick to rotate their character model during customization
  • When customizing character appearance, the D-Pad can be held to switch between menus
  • Preview is supported when customizing appearance or creating a new character

  • Portuguese only: Fixed the display of height meter when parachuting


Known Issues

  • B button incorrectly displayed to cut parachute cable; this should be X
  • When viewing the map, the X, Y, and B buttons are fully functional – please be aware that this can cause you to exit the plane or vehicle whilst in motion. Please only use the map button to return to gameplay until this is resolved.

Xbox Patch Notes #10 (HotFix)
Xbox players,

  • Fixed issue where player revival would continue despite interruption
  • Fixed repeating sounds from footsteps or when reloading Kar98k, Revolver, or Shotgun
  • Fixed issue where (B) and (Y) buttons remained active in gameplay while in the map view
  • Fixed issue where the parachute cable would not disappear following a landing in water
  • Fixed issue where the player could not cut the parachute cable when becoming stuck during landing


Known Issues

  • Pressing the (B) button while in the Settings menu will cause the player to exit the plane

Xbox Patch Notes #11
The team’s efforts on “Patch 11” have been focused on continued performance optimization, and stability improvements across the family of Xbox consoles. We are also introducing changes to inventory management, in an effort to increase the speed at which players can navigate menus and change their loadout. We continue to monitor crash data, and look to further reduce the frequency of crashes with each update through Game Preview and beyond.

  • Quick scrolling has been added by using LT/RT buttons


Gameplay

  • A counter has been added to show the number of players remaining on the airplane


Cosmetic Items

  • Reminder to the community that the Varsity Jacket (also known as the PUBG5 jacket) announced last week will be rewarded to players after March 22nd 12:01AM. Look for it in your in-game inventory from March 22nd, inside the customization tab of the menu.


Bug Fixes

  • Fixed issue that caused players to hear footsteps when no other players were in the vicinity
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the blue zone from being displayed correctly


Xbox Patch Notes #12
Optimization and Stabilization
  • Partially optimized the vehicle system. The dust effect caused by friction with the ground during driving has especially been optimized, and the vehicle system has been improved in part.

  • Fixed a problem with voice chat that caused some crashes.

  • Grass objects in Erangel have been optimized and will continue to be optimized going forward.
Gameplay
  • Fixed a serious bug that caused vehicles to flip or get airtime for no reason. This includes the three-wheel bike.

  • Fixed an issue where under certain circumstances the character would be upside down or seated in a strange position when moving seats while riding in vehicles.
  • Player will receive more damage in a vehicle collision. The heavier the vehicle, the greater the damage inflicted upon the player. Also, players are now more likely to die or be knocked out when colliding with a vehicle running at high speed.

  • The vehicle passenger will receive more damage when the vehicle crashes into an obstacle like a wall or tree. When crashing into something at high speed on a smaller vehicle, such as a motorcycle, the player will take much more damage.
  • Fixed issue causing the 4x scope to be excessively reflective.
UI/UX
  • Fixed issue causing certain UI layouts not being properly aligned.

  • Fixed issue of buttons bound to the UI(map, inventory etc.) affecting vehicle operation.

  • Fixed issue of equipment icons not shown properly on the HUD.

  • Fixed issue of LT, RT scrolling not working in the inventory when using controller preset B.

  • Fixed issue of excessive acceleration when the stick is tilted more than a certain angle depending on the R stick acceleration setting.

  • Fixed issue of team member indicators incorrectly showing on the plane


Other Bug Fixes
  • Removed collision of discarded magazine on the floor after reloading.

  • Fixed a cosmetic bug that occurred when characters wore certain clothing or shoes.

  • Fixed issue of fonts breaking up in case of certain languages.
Scheduled fixes for identified issues
  • When changing the deadzone settings in the lobby, the options screen needs to be opened once again for the settings to be reflected. This issue will be fixed soon.

Patch Notes #13 :
PATCH CONTENT:

These optimization and performance improvements have been proven to be effective on the PUBG test server, so we’re bringing them over to live servers now.



  • The free-fall and parachuting process has been optimized, leading to performance improvements during the initial stages of each game.

  • World loading has been optimized. “Play-doh” and interior prop pop-in effects have been improved.

  • Movement data for nearby but out-of-sight players is now handled in a more efficient manner, resulting in general performance improvements.

  • Similarly, when nearby but out-of-sight players equip or unequip items, this process is handled in a more efficient manner. This helps with performance and crashes throughout the game.

  • The inventory has been optimized, improving response time when opening it and solving some crashing issues.

  • Uninhabited boats and vehicles were causing some performance issues, and we’ve resolved this issue.


KNOWN ISSUE:

After long play sessions (three or more hours) on the standard Xbox One and the Xbox One S, the game sometimes crashes. This has been a problem for some time, and we hope to solve it soon. In the meantime, there’s a simple workaround you can use. Simply restart the app every couple of hours if you plan on playing a longer play session.

Recently we shared a dev letter that gave a preview of some upcoming performance improvements we’ll be implementing in PUBG for Xbox One. We’ll need time to deliver on all of those improvements, but in the meantime we’ve got a small patch here with some bug fixes, improvements to Miramar, and a new teamkiller reporting function.

  • Prediction based level streaming has improved.

  • Elastic accuracy control for character has improved.

  • We introduced some back-end changes to prepare for an upcoming feature and in some cases, the game would try to interact with this unfinished feature, causing the game to crash. This has been removed.


PLAYER REPORTING



You will now be able to report a team kill. If you get killed by a teammate, simply...

  • Press the Y button when the result is shown to expose the report pop-up

  • Press the A button to report

  • Check whether the “report competed” message is shown on the bottom of the screen

  • If it wasn’t a team kill, the report button won’t appear


World



Miramar

  • Improvements were made mainly in the northern part of Miramar to make it a more appealing area.
    • The Oasis in the northern area of the map has expanded.
  • We’ve added more car spawning positions to facilitate easy travel into and out of the area.
  • Certain problematic terrain elements (which caused weird collisions or movement) have been fixed for a smoother driving experience

  • We’ve added extra farming points to loot in the map.

  • We’ve added more objects like trees and rocks in the northern part of Miramar to provide some additional options for cover.

  • The interiors of certain buildings have been simplified



Bugfixes



  • Fixed an issue where motorbike tires would not burst even when damaged

  • Some issues related to motorbike crashes have been fixed

  • Gamehub stats will now be shown correctly. These stats will be updated with the unaccounted data with some server-side operations which might take a bit of time

Xbox Patch Nots 1.0
Hey everyone,

The day we’ve all been looking forward to has finally arrived. PUBG on Xbox is officially graduating to 1.0!



The official PUBG 1.0 launch brings more quality of life and optimization improvements, in addition to tons of new content for everyone to enjoy. Our third map-Sanhok, achievements, Event Pass, and much more are being implemented to the game as you wait for live servers to come back up.

NEW MAP: SANHOK



  • Added a new map: Sanhok (pronounced “sah-nok”)
  • Sanhok is 4km x 4km map (one fourth the size of Erangel or Miramar). Although games tend to end a little more quickly on this tiny island, battles are still massive. Every game still features 100 players.
  • Certain settings have been customized specifically for Sanhok to better fit its unique design. Details are below.
  • Performance
  • Faraway players and vehicles aren’t rendered the same way on Sanhok, resulting in some server performance improvements.
  • Gameplay
  • Weather in Sanhok changes dynamically.
  • Players can throw apples while waiting to board the plane in the in-game lobby.
  • Redzone
  • The redzone is smaller and shorter-lasting on Sanhok.
  • The center of the redzone appears outside of the playzone (the white circle). This means players are more at risk when outside of the playzone.
  • Bluezone
  • Bluezone on Sanhok has shorter waiting times and longer travel times.
  • The bluezone is also dynamic. It checks remaining player numbers before deciding the next circle, adjusting the waiting time and travel time accordingly (this doesn’t affect circle size).
  • Spawn Balance
  • The item spawn rules have been customized on Sanhok to get you equipped for battle faster.
  • ARs, SMGs, and DMRs are spawned more often.
  • 8x scopes and 15x scopes don’t spawn on Sanhok. However, they may still be obtained from care packages.
  • In-game lobby
  • Everyone will receive 20 apples in the in-game lobby which can be thrown around freely. Practice your throwing skills while you wait for the game to be started!


New Weapons

QBZ



  • The QBZ is an AR that uses 5.56mm rounds. It can hold 30 rounds per magazine, and can be extended to 40 rounds.
QBU



  • The QBU is a new, Sanhok-exclusive DMR with a standard magazine of 10 rounds of 5.56mm ammo, which can be increased to 20 with an extended magazine.
  • There is bipod attached to QBU—it will greatly reduce recoil when you shoot while prone.
New Vehicle: Rony



  • The Rony is a new pickup truck that can only be found on Sanhok (from the automaker that brought you the Mirado)!
  • This truck holds up to 4 passengers and excels at moving across Sanhok's hilly landscapes.
  • The Rony is one of the larger vehicles on Sanhok, so it can be used for cover as well as transportation!


Weapon Skin System

  • Players can select skins for each weapon
  • Weapon skin system UI
  • You can check details about the equipped skin using VIEW MORE button
  • How to equip weapon skins
  • You can use WEAPONS section in CUSTOMIZATION menu to equip the skin of your choice
  • The ways to acquire weapon skins
  • You can acquire weapon skins through “Raider crate” in STORE > CRATES.
Parachute Skin

  • CUSTOMIZATION > GEAR tab has been added. Go here to equip parachute skins.
  • Tooltips for weapon attachments have been edited to make them more intuitive.
  • The Bengal Tiger skin is can now be bought in the STORE

UI / UX



  • With three maps now in the game, you’ll choose between two “playlists” instead of two maps.
  • The Battle Royale playlist contains both Erangel and Miramar. Selecting it will randomly drop you into one of the two.
  • The Mini Royale playlist contains only Sanhok for now.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed an issue where some items weren’t able to be picked up.
  • Fixed an issue where having more than one controller connected would:
  • Lower the sensitivity after ADS
  • Disallow driving vehicles
  • Fixed an issue where frame would drop because of effects from destroyed vehicles/boats.
  • Fixed an issue where the screen would be darkened in HDR on some monitors.
  • Fixed an issue where the character would seem like it’s moving faster after certain steps near stair handrails.
  • Fixed an issue where player was unable to navigate shotgun through attachments on S1897, S686.


War Mode / Custom Match

For a smooth and healthy matchmaking times for our new contents/features, we’ve decided push each of them live with a time gap (Sanhok → War Mode → Custom Match). This is to let everyone enjoy and delve into each contents with time. Also, it’s to let each contents have enough attention from our players, so players won’t be divided having a long matchmaking time for each content.



Sanhok is available beginning today, and we expect to begin offering War Mode as a weekend event in late September, with full Custom Match functionality to release in mid-Octoboer.




Today marks a new chapter in the PUBG journey. 1.0 is just the beginning - we’re looking forward to continued active development alongside our players to make the PUBG experience the best that it can possibly be for our Xbox community.

Great post, my man. Very thorough. When you say "fixed game crashes", does that mean they're gone for good? I can deal with the rubberbanding and frame rate issues, but the game crashing is the absolutely worst. The Military base building collisions is much needed. I watched a team of four try to drive a jeep out of a gap in the fence, must have knicked it, and they all just blew up...

I wouldn't say they're gone for good, I have the update and it still crashes but it's better than what it was.

  • Issue causing water impact to sound like gunfire (boats and other vehicles in swamp areas)
  • We continue to balance and appropriately tune vehicles, as such we are aware of issues related to the recent adjustments to damage and player health:
    • Insufficient damage to players when being struck by vehicles
    • Drivers/passengers suffering inappropriate health damage when involved in minor collisions
  • Players experiencing issues where they are prevented from vaulting through a limited number of windows
  • Dune buggy disappears once driven and exited

The boat sounding like gunshots was so frightening the first time. I yelled at my teammates to stop shooting at me!

Bought it last night after my comment; can say I'm so addicted I still haven't went back to sleep.
It's one of the most addicting games I've ever played. I hope they prioritize the game crashing so frequently. I can deal with the poor rendering, frame issues, and rubberbanding for the meantime.

Bad console port I feel the game was rushed and released way to soon to me the rendering has no setting it all seems maxed and wasn't adjusted.

What they're should have did was released it free to play beta but hopefully with the support of people playing it and buying the game thing's should get better

It was certainly rushed to console. They've said several times that they're dedicating this year to working out all of the bugs, and hopefully getting the game to a full release. I don't think they would be making quite the same effort to resolve these issues if it were a free beta. I guess that's partly why Sony doesn't even allow game previews. Either way, I enjoy the game, and I feel that my money was well spent!
