Error 800704DC occurs when downloading your Xbox Live profile on Xbox 360
You see the following error message when you try to download your Xbox Live profile on your Xbox 360 console:

Sorry, Xbox Live profiles can't be downloaded right now. Please try again later.

Status Code: 800704DC

This may mean that there’s a problem with your Xbox Live billing account.

Solutions
Solution 1: Check the status of Xbox Live

Check the Xbox Live service status. If there’s a current Xbox Live service problem, try downloading your profile later.

Solution 2: Review your billing account to determine your current status

If you've changed your payment option recently, make sure that it was correctly updated in your Xbox Live billing account. If your payment option has expired, you'll have to change to a new credit card or add another payment option.

To verify that your billing account is correct:

  1. In a browser, go to "Manage your billing profile" at My Account.
  2. Sign in to the Microsoft account that you want to change.
Note If you don't know your Microsoft account email address or password, use the Lost Account and Password Solution.
  3. Click or tap Billing info.
  4. Click or tap the billing information you want to manage, and then click or tap Edit profile.
  5. Update your billing information details, and then click or tap Save.
If your payment option has expired, see Manage your payment options online

Solution 3: Troubleshoot your Xbox Live connection

This issue can occur if there’s a problem with your Internet connection. Try troubleshooting your connection by using the Xbox 360 Connection Error Solution.

Solution 4: Verify the information in your Microsoft account

Make sure that your personal information is correct in your Microsoft account:

  1. In a browser, sign in to your Microsoft account. Note If you forgot your password or can't sign in by using your password, Reset your password. If you've forgotten your Microsoft account email address, see the Lost Account and Password Solution.
  2. Note any error messages that are displayed.
  3. After you resolve any errors, verify the information in your Microsoft account. For example, verify the billing information, or the information in the Password and security info section.
  4. Sign out of your Microsoft Account, and then sign in again.
  5. On your console, sign in to Xbox Live and try to download your profile again.
Solution 5: Change your Microsoft Account password

Try changing your Microsoft account password to resolve this issue:

  1. In a browser, go to your My account page.
  2. Click Change password.
  3. Type your current password and a new password, and then click Save.
  4. Sign out of your Microsoft Account, and then sign in again.
  5. On your console, sign in to Xbox Live and try to download your profile again.
Solution 6: Clear any stored information from your Xbox 360 console

There may be an issue with your Xbox Live profile stored on your Xbox 360 console. Delete your profile and redownload it from Xbox Live:

  1. Delete the profile from your Xbox 360 console. For instructions, see Delete an Xbox Live profile from an Xbox 360 console.
  2. Clear the system cache. To do so, see How to clear the cache on Xbox 360.
  3. Turn off your Xbox 360 console and your network hardware (such as your modem and router).

  1. Wait 30 seconds.
  2. Turn on your modem and wait for it to come online (about a minute).
  3. Turn on the next piece of hardware (for example, your router) and wait another minute.
  4. Download your profile.
After your profile downloads, restart the console and then try to connect to Xbox Live. If you keep experiencing the problem after you’ve tried all of the solutions above, contact Xbox Support.

Important When contacting Xbox Support, be sure to let them know if your membership is the Xbox 360 Entertainment For All Plan.
Alternatively try a different KV.
