Hi guys
i did some looking around and i got a bit confused about what to set my xbox and tv to
this is my tv Sony KP-51HW40 51" widescreen HDTV-ready projection TV at Crutchfield.com
it said it accepts 720p and 1080i
but it also says on the front page in overview section that for Hi-Scan HDTV monitor (compatible with HDTV/SDTV broadcasts when connected to a separate HDTV tuner and displays them at 1080i or 480p; also accepts 480p output from a compatible DVD player)

so i was wondering what to put my 360 to but i know 720P is fast and not much different to 1080i but if my tv converts 720P to 480P then of course 1080i is much better

also for my tv what should i set the DRC mode to progressive interlaced or cinemotion
progressive on my tv says 4x density for still images and text
interlaced says 4x density for moving pictures
cinemotions says enhances film-based content

so ya i have an xbox elite with hd cabes
so what do you guys think?
i play games like street fighter gears halo cod4 mainly fps but some action aswell

thanks!!!

720p

IMO all (P's) except for 420 are better than any (I's)

I have a 47 inch Panasonic Rear Projection, and it's a 1080i, but I use 720p for my 360.

Just try them out and see which you like best.

Ok here is the difference between 720P and 1080i 720P is 720 Lines of Progressive lines of resolution which means that there is always constantly 720 Lines of picture no matter what. But 1080 is Interlaced which has an even and an odd field usually even field first so 1080 is 540 Lines of resolution on the tv at any point which is less than 720P 1080i is 30 frames per second but it cycles 60 times per second to make a picture versus 720P which refreshes only 30 times a second. So overall the winner is 720P over 1080i Just remember to stick to the P's not i's

iv noticed for my tv 1080i looks much better than 720p and i did this on Gears of war 2
i guess it depends on your tv and for mine reading the website i put up on my thread it says 1080i is its normal so ya it looks better on that and my sniping for halo and everything is spot on
o and drc doesnt get changed when on xbox but i have it on progressive for normal tv watching and canucks games and nba stuff but ya progressive for tv and 1080i for xbox works best for me
