Solved 360 Overheating Problem

I have one of my old Elites, And when i turn it on the fans rev up till they make a insanely loud sound. obviously its overheating but it happened after i closed it. Please help as i was going to sell it tomorrow

When you turn it on do you actually get an overheating error or does it still play? And where did you get it from?
