Hello! Welcome to my tutorial showing how to CR4 and R-Jtag Any Phat Xbox 360!
(Except Xenon)

disc.png

Myself, and Everyone on this site, is not responsible for you. This entire guide was written by me (No0b3rT). There is ALWAYS a chance to screw up your Xbox trying to RGH/R-Jtag it. If you ruin your console, or your console does not work after this tutorial, it is not mine or anyone on this sites fault.

This Tutorial was Done on the Latest Dashboard at the time.

So, obviously before you get right into R-Jtagging your Xbox, you're going to need a few things. Besides the hardware, you're going to have to have a basic knowledge in soldering, and patience. As you can see, I've listed everything you'll need for this install below, and also a link to buy it.

CR4 XL ($30.00)
cr4xl_final__88932_std_zps817c2dcb.png~original

This is the brand new, and last version of the Cool Runner by Team-Xecuter.
It's an all in one chip, that works for all Phat and Slim Xbox 360s.

So as stated above, you're going to have to have a basic knowledge of soldering.
You do not need to have a $100+ soldering station or any of that nonsense,
so this is going to be going over what I'm using in terms of solder hardware
just so that you can get an idea of what to be looking for.

RadioShack Soldering Iron ($25.00)
asd_zps7f9aaaca.jpg~original

The soldering iron I picked to use for this install is
an inexpensive RadioShack one. It's a small iron,
so it works perfectly to get those really small points
done on the motherboard without any trouble.
It also comes with 8 extra tips that you can switch
out if you find that one tip works better than another.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------

RadioShack Rosin Core Solder ($7.50)

06400013_00_zpsedfc6b78.jpg~original

The solder I picked for this install is this Rosin Core
Solder I found at RadioShack. It has .022” diameter,
and it works just perfectly fine with this install.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------

RadioShack Soldering Flux ($7.50)

06400022_00_zpsf0baf71e.jpg~original

So although the solder I bought is rosin core, I will
always recommend using flux. It makes everything
300x easier in terms of having the solder work better.

Alright, so now that you have the hardware needed for the install, lets get ready
for the install. First thing you're going to need is the Program J-Runner.

You can go ahead and click the Picture Above to Download it.
(You're going to have to update it when you open it)

**************************************************************

Alright, so let's get right into it.Looking at the top of the motherboard, we're going to be
working on the right side. These points, are where the Nand QSB will be installed.

4d30c964e4192ba3530c82fbb8e8bce0_zpse11eae53.jpg~original

Step 1.) The Nand QSB comes with a double sided adhesive, so quite obviously,
be sure to stick it to the bottom, and put the QSB into place like so:

dec58378-84ff-4aa3-8228-9a035fd6b339_zps7dc90ad7.jpg~original

Step 2.) Go ahead and put some flux on the 5 Points

fe048eeedda6ec33dbc6b0105b4dfec0_zps6753d5bf.jpg~original

Step 3.) Now all you gotta do is solder the 5 Points.
Small tip, heat the point first, and let the solder flow down from the QSB right on to the point.

03abc923e825e118c38b90b4efb92f70_zpscdb86a38.jpg~original

Once all 5 Points are soldered correctly, make sure you clean off the excess flux off the QSB.

**************************************************************

Next, we're going to be installing the 2nd QSB. Looking at the top of the motherboard
again, we're going be going to the bottom of the board like shown in the picture.

4d30c964e4192ba3530c82fbb8e8bce0_zpscb183d8f.jpg~original

Step 1.) Just like the first QSB, what you're going to do first is Flux the first 9 Points

0df5d593a8b50e3606d805ad07e2fe81_zps5337a253.jpg~original

Step 2.) Go ahead, and solder all 9 Points.

a1c808cec5ab91231015b9c9fe7faeaf_zpsf771572c.png~original

Step 3.) After the 9 Points are soldered, don't forget the two to the right of them.
As usual, flux the 2 points.

650de00b-86aa-477c-bfc8-f2f349e015de_zps4beedb5a.png~original

Step 4.) And then solder them.

62dae32a-d282-4433-a944-d9e952dcde03_zps21ff7c3e.png~original

Step 5.) Now we're gonna go to the left side of the QSB, and we're gonna get the small point soldered it.
As usual, flux the point.

8cda2751-542a-4d10-9adb-15d2875dd2b1_zpse8788e59.png~original

Step 6.) To Solder this point, you really wanna be quick. If you leave the Iron on the point too long,
you'll either lift the pad, or unsolder a resistor. You have to do it quick like shown below:

ezgif-4060096603_zpsi5vbxumz.gif~original

Now before you move on, make sure that the point actually got soldered correctly. As you can see
below, the solder went right down to the point perfectly. If you don't double check, and it turns out
it didn't go down to the point, you'll have problems getting the console to glitch.

00bd949b73af93098fb50b4d58941a2b_zpscb6e2dca.png~original

**************************************************************

Now that the two QSBs are Installed on the top of the board, we're gonna go to the bottom.

b9bd185d30358c0438b462c5edee25f0_zps5d594e57.jpg~original
Step 1.) As usual.... place the QSB down, and flux the points.

f3338184-5c50-4ac3-888f-dcc7f0043eca_zps232fc76c.jpg~original

I missed the one point on the right side of the QSB, so just don't forget it lol.

Step 2.) Go ahead and solder the 4 points on the right

adab1369660cd91fc034fd9178d4bec7_zpse17f6aeb.png~original

Step 3.) With the little point on the left, you want to be just as careful as you were with the 2nd QSB.
But it's the same idea, just be quick, and get out after you see it join together.

ezgif-1794192895_zpsimpxt2fv.gif~original
**************************************************************

Once the 3rd and Final QSB is installed, we can get ready to head over to the computer

So at this Point, make sure you have J-Runner downloaded.
Get your JR Programmer, plug the White, and Blue Nand Wire into the First QSB.
Grab the Green wire, and plug it into the Second QSB we Installed.
Take the other end of the Cable, and plug it into the JR Programmer.

Get a Mini USB Cable, and plug that into the JR Programmer, and plug it
into the Computer. If you don't have the drivers installed already, do the Following:

Open up Device Manage on the Computer
JR-Programmer should have a Yellow Exclamation Point
Right Click it, and hit Update Driver Software.
Hit Browse Computer for the Drivers
Direct the Path to the J-Runner Folder/common/drivers
Hit Accept, and you'll get a message saying they aren't Verified
Hit Install Anyway
After that You're Good to Go

Go grab your Power Brick for your Xbox 360, and plug it into the wall
Take the Other end of the Cable, and put it into the Back of the Xbox 360
DO NOT turn on the Xbox, just leave the power cable in so the board has power

**************************************************************

On the Computer, Open J-Runner, and if you see the JR Programmer Logo,
that means the Drivers were successfully installed for the JR Programmer.

In the top Left of JRunner, change the Reads to 2

49594e6a83ce36e5bef5a125397120ac_zpsfd35d174.png~original

After you Have the White, Blue and Green Nand cable plugged in, and the
Power Cable running to the Xbox, go ahead and hit Read Nand in the Top Left.

Depending on Which Motherboard you're working with, will determine how long it will
take to read it twice. I was working with a 512MB Jasper, so it took 4 Hours to read Twice O_O

When it has read it Twice, Make sure it says Nands are the Same

3d41aa9fb51025576f4dc0a7b08d5522_zps5b5c44b4.png~original

In the Top Right, Select the Following:

Jtag ✓
Aud_Clamp ✓
R-Jtag ✓

Hit Create Xell-Reloaded in the Top Left, and it'll create the File

awesdsdqe_zps7nqhntx7.png~original

After it creates it, Hit Write Xell-Reloaded in the Top Left.
It'll take about 18 Seconds to Finish

00b3abbfbb308350509b68148a679143_zps2b8434d0.png~original

**************************************************************

Now, we can Head Over to the CR4, and get it Ready to Solder to the Board

I didn't want to make 8 Different Pictures to explain how to do
something easy,so I'll explain it in a Summary with one Picture

**************************************************************
These are the Following Points we're going to be Using

5V Stand By - Red Wire
Ground - Black Wire

C - Yellow Wire
M - Blue Wire

A - White Wire
B - Gray Wire

For the points, we're gonna be doing the same thing we've been doing.

Flux the points, heat the pad with the soldering iron, and get a little ball of solder on the points.

After that, go ahead and solder the wires in one by one.

4919a076059961bacecb4aafbe856b57_zps4cdba9eb.jpg~original

Now that you have the wires soldered to the CR4, we can start solder it to the board.

Step 1.) First one we're gonna be doing is the Black Ground wire.
We're going to be soldering this wire to the AV Port at the back of the board.
As we've been doing, Flux any point on the AV Port, and solder onto the port.

ezgif-2796753015_zpsawaz8gqd.gif~original

Step 2.) After that, go ahead and solder the black wire right into the point you just made

ezgif-2795163411_zpsppzbxzzf.gif~original

Step 3.) Once the Ground Wire is in to place, go to the Second QSB we Installed.
Flux the B Point, and the 5V Point. Put some solder on both of those pads.
Solder the Gray wire to the B Point, and Solder the Red wire to the 5V Point.

asdsda_zpsf38290c6.png~original

Step 4.) Head over to the back of the Board, and go to the Aud Clamp QSB.
On the Left Side of the QSB Flux the 1, 3, and Furthest left Pad.
After Solder is on 1, and 3, bridge the Pads together like so:

ezgif-1437443937_zpsakd4tbpv.gif~original

Step 5.) To the Left of the Aud Clamp QSB, there's a point we're soldering above R2N22.
We're going to be soldering to the top part. So flux, solder a point, and solder the green wire.

9f40e1187f13b79b4e74cb337cf6aeb4_zps4c7388c1.png~original

Then on the other end of the wire, attach it to the left pad on the Aud Clamp QSB

8308f14e101603417c8750dcc708d166_zpsc23cbe71.png~original

In relation to the QSB, it looks like this:
audclamp_zps083b9817.jpg~original

**************************************************************

Now we're going to go over to this side of the Xbox to get the Yellow Point soldered in

b9bd185d30358c0438b462c5edee25f0_zps9acf0c6b.jpg~original

The Point we're going to be soldering to is FT6U1.
So again, flux the point, and solder the yellow wire to it.

ezgif-1844644195_zpsssmhkjhq.gif~original

**************************************************************

Now, we're going to be coming over here to Solder the White and Blue Wires

b9bd185d30358c0438b462c5edee25f0_zps90c9fa5c.jpg~original

Now, a closer look at those points, these are the two points here:

3fa52e37805cc4a3defafff139f4811a_zps98ace7d6.jpg~original

As you can see, there's A LOT of points surround the two we need.
Since there's A LOT of points, there's A LOT that can go wrong.

So... for these two points, we really need to do it quick.

Again, for the last time, flux the point, and get a dab of
solder on the points just to make them fresh.
Then, just solder the two wires to their separate points.

0f69dcc3c6b192f628b09efe6b89381c_zpsf55634a8.png~original

1a5fb2cdfcf467c42623e53ae3a3a1bb_zps70f1bc9d.png~original

**************************************************************

That's it for Soldering! We're about 90% There

Now... we get the Settings set, and then we can Finish this thing up.

So first up, we're doing the Aud Clamp QSB.

ade5880bb8013e23a529e0d6193791b7_zps68420c7c.png~original

Turn the Left Switch to On

Put the Right Switch in the Middle

The Jumper in the Middle, I moved to 470-Off.
It can be totally Different for your Console, so you can move it if you have to.

**************************************************************

Next up is the CR4 Settings!
CR4_HIRES_zpsb3f2a98a.png~original

Turn the Top Switch to Phat

Now the Dips, all depend on the Motherboard

dip-jasper_zpsacf0c70e.png~original
dip-falcon_zps3721b0ee.png~original
dip-zephyr_zps92d6d722.png~original

So since I have a Jasper, I don't have to put any of them up.

If you have a Falcon, just push up 7

If you have a Zephyr, push up 7 & 8

For the Jumpers, by default it will be on 0

postbit_jumpers_zps25ca6493.png~original

For my Jasper, I put it on 10 Ohms, but same as the Aud Clamp, it depends on your
console and you can move it whenever you start to test the boot timings.

**************************************************************

Alright! We're all set!!

Plug in your Power Cable, and any Audio Video cable to the back of your Xbox.
Make sure the fan is plugged in, and if you took off the heat sinks, be sure to put them back.

Now... Fire it up!!

If all went successfully, your CR4 will have a Green Light that blinks every 2-3 Seconds

Eventually (shouldn't be too long) it'll boot into Xell

On the bottom you'll see you'll CPU Key and Your DVD Key

b2915e8f623050bf2a44450ec7ee8a19_zpsb03e6d95.png~original

Go ahead and write that down/take a picture of your CPU Key.

Now head back to J-Runner
Reload your Nand Dump if you Closed out of J-Runner

Once your Nand is load up, in the 3rd box there's a spot for your CPU Key
Go ahead and type that in and it'll re-initiate and load all your console's info

7ba0eff0ccdd727e45b0cccb339d3325_zps66b32557.png~original

Now, once everything re-initiates, we can create the Hacked Dashboard.

Double check your settings at the top right.
Make the Dashboard 17150

If J-Runner doesn't have 17150, hit Add Dash, and a little window will come up
Go all the way down, and select 17150, and others if you want, and hit Add Dashes
Then J-Runner will Start to Download them.

Once they're downloaded, make sure JTAG is Selected, Aud_Clamp is Checked, and R-Jtag is Checked
Select the Dashboard 17150

Then go ahead and hit Create XeBuild Image

A message will come up asking to Delete SMC.bin, hit Yes.

dasad944874_zpsdcdrzjgg.png~original

After it finishes, it'll show your CPU Key, 1BL, and DVD Key and say Have a Nice day

Then reattach your White, Blue, and Green nand cables to the QSBs.

Then go ahead and hit Write Nand.

And that's it!!!

31ed59f891b910c45719309812c49313_zps47fde8c0.png~original

Once it tells you it's done, you've Successfully finished R-Jtagging your Xbox with the new CR4!

Now, you can go download XeX Menu, transfer that over to the HDD on the Xbox and Enjoy!

hey tried it there out of them
Well, can I ask why you're trying to get a Nand X?

They've been discontinued for some time now.

The JR-Programmer replaces them.

So why are you trying to specifically get the Nand X?
