They'll soon start selling RDO$ in the MT store.

Why they don't do it already defies logic, as far as I'm concerned. If the game has two currencies, it makes sense to have both available to purchase and included in the same package.

Put simply, I'm led to believe that they don't really seem to know what they're doing with the game and it's full release will not come for some considerable time. At least as far as Online is concerned. Maybe all of us have GTA levels of expectations for the Online mode that were maybe never the intention to begin with. Who knows?

I will say though, that If this is all they have - however many years since RDR1, however many years since LA Noire or GTA5, Max Payne 3 - since RDR2 Online release, with 2 [apparently] large updates, and this is it, this game is unfortunately on the path to development Hell. So much scope and ambition and yet so badly implemented. Daily Challenges for f*** sake?

[Note: I'm not a game developer. I can't do better. Everybody is a critic, true. But nobody - even those with as much faith in the game as I had - can argue this is going well. It's such a ****ing shame.]

Rdr2 is an open book. There is a spot on rockstar to give your opinion on what comes next for rdr online. Bare in mind that most of rdr development was borrowed from other areas of rockstar and now that rdr is out those borrowed have moved back to their original areas.
The rdr online team is small.
I doubt rdro will ever reach gta levels but it could get some fun updates. Likely too late for most but it could.
If i had to guess I would say rdr1 online is likely good example of where rdr2 online will end up. Short lived and little to do. The game is at a disposition with being limited to slow travel without cars and planes. Many will become bored with the sheer travel times.
I really think online expectations for rdr are just too high. Like I have said before just let it die. The game was never really intended to be an online game in the first place. My idea for it in the beginning was allowing the story to be played solo and the option to play again with other players and being able to play as different story character.

At this point I'd rather see story updates than for Online. If I were able to play through again as Lenny you'd never hear another RDR complaint out of me.

Broke my ****in' heart, dude. Cold as hell, too - shotgun to the face and left on a rooftop.

I'm going to revisit Story mode next time I play, I think. For now, Online is not dead in so much as you can get on there and make a bit of cash (for what it's worth) but all the game modes suck, free mode is being horribly neglected, and there are very few things about it now that I enjoy. The fact I can repeat all of the dialogue in 'Kill Them Each and Every One' says to me that I need to give up the ghost with it. At least for now.

You are way more important than any developer at R* my friend, you are the one with the [real] money to pay them.

Their actions will be based on how you handle your [real] money with them, if you keep it in your pocket they will have no choice but listen to you and make what pleases you. If you give it to them based on promises that everyone know they will not fulfill, they will laugh at your face and do whatever pleases them.

I have 2 and half days of SP play time with 54% completion, I have not launched RDRO even once and have no intention of doing so, despite I have 24 days play time in GTAO, which is probably why I don't trust them anymore. I guess some people just like to get **** all over them and keep giving their [real] money to R* knowing they won't get anything they hoped for and it arouses them, I dunno...

Could it be that they will not put RDO $ in the store because they have the intention of inserting poker, black jack etc. online playable only with RDO $?

Yep, legislation is very tight on that. Even loot boxes face challenge in Europe. So no real money for RDO$ because of gambling/casino mini-games to come could partly explain that. Good point.

It'll never happen for the same reasons why they'd never release the mythical 'Casino DLC' in GTA Online. Too many problems - kids with parents credit cards that provide them with access to in-game microtransactions and allow them to get more money they can use to gamble with, and gambling in a game will no doubt carry the same risks in a game as it does in real life. The likelihood is if the in-game mode develops into an in-game addiction, the kids will keep paying for those microtransactions to fund it.

If your character in RDR2 develops a [timely] addiction to Cocaine Gum, there isn't a risk to the same kid playing developing the same Cocaine addiction. That's where the disconnect comes in.

As suggested Cicciopasticc, by having two currencies, and allowing only one (gold bars) to be bought with real money, Rockstar actually opened the way for gambling/casino in RDO with RD$ (you can't buy those).
In GTA, you could buy GTA$ with real money, playing Casino with these would have been illegal.

in theory these are games over 18 years old, but we know that this is not the case. however I believe and above all I hope that they have adopted the way of the 2 currencies just for the gambling ... otherwise I don't see the sense

I think this is a very good point.

EA got itself a heap of trouble with its SW Battlefront II monetized loot-boxes. Some legislations consider these to be hasard/money games in disguise. Imagine their reaction with monetized in-game simulated casino/gambling/poker... VG industry is currently testing the limits, Rockstar could have found a sidestep solution here.

I had this issue too. No matter what I tried, it would disconnect all the time.
The ONLY way to fix it was to use a VPN, it fixed ALL the disconnections
What VPN do you use that plays RDR2 well?
